I'm really suspicious about The Scotsman. I believe he is here just to cause mischief. We ought to do a tap on his IP address and find out where he's really located. We've had so many of his ilk of late - and they've all disappeared with their tails between their legs.

We all know that any JW who says he has the truth wouldn't be posting here in the first place. The morons just don't get it, do they!

I'm not an ex-JW, never was a JW, and I do not moan (very often). The Scotsman, would you honor me by reviewing my post history, and enlighten me as to why I am here?

I didn't find it on your list.

Well, The Scotsman, if your idea of "worship" consists of meetings where you are being trained to place literature for the WTS,

and you actually enjoy having MEN tell you what not to celebrate,

or who you can and cannot associate with,

    or what you can do,

    or where you can go,

and have MEN making all the rules on how to live your life---

while always DOING MORE to get recruits for the Watchtower Society.....

which they'll tell you is "pleasing God" as you are really pleasing THEM,

then by all means.....GO for it.

    Knock yourself out!

I agree with you Ian. He seems typical of the apologists we've had in here lately, starts a thread that he knows will draw a lot of replies, mainly disagreeing with him, then doesn't address any of the replies. I think he could be an instigator, just here to distract us from helping those who join for genuine reasons, like getting over their years in the witchtower.

He's obviously not a very committed jw, or he wouldn't be here in the first place, and I don't even believe he was going out in the ministry, we only have his word for that, and we all know how trustworthy jws really are, whatever the squeeky - clean image they like to boast about having,

Maybe his stint in "field service" will soothe his tiny conscience enough to make him feel he's squared away with Jehovah.....like ten saying Hail Mary's after going to Confession or giving a big donation to a charity when you know you've messed up!

Make no mistake----speaking with known apostates IS considered messing up in Watchtowerland.

    Hello Scotsman,

I never was a JW. I do have a couple of questions that no JW has properly answered for me. The entire premise that the organization you belong to is guided by Jehovah rests on the assertion that Christ chose the FDS, and the FDS elected the Governing Body.

Using Watchtower literature from 1914 to 1933.....When, where, how and why did the FDS elect the Governing Body ?

Did the anointed from the FDS class all gather at the polo grounds during one of the conventions of the 1920's and vote on doctrine and organizational changes, elect a Governing body, then instruct them on how to carry out the doctrinal and organizational changes?

If you backtrack through the literature, it appears that the Governing Body has always elected themselves, thus appointing themselves spokespeople for the FDS.

Using Watchtower literature from 1914 to 1933.....When, where, how and why did the FDS elect the Governing Body ?

I cannot proceed to step B (starting to believe that this is an organaztion directed by Jehovah) until this most fundamental question is answered.

Thanks in advance for your comments

    Hello The Scotsman

Don't go spoiling my filthy reputation with your high falutin' religiousity. And watch out you don't reveal any personal details - if you are in Scotland there's a good chance LT or I will know who you (or your parents) are. Have fun ya bas!

    Hello again.

First, I am not here to scorn or hurl abuse at posters. (I wish I could say the same for some who replied today!!!)

Ok, I am a JW. Is that such a horrible terrible crime that deserves utter contempt to be thrown at me?

Once again a few mention WT articles from 1914 etc. WHAT????????

Were any of us even born then????? Digging up the past. Give us a break please.

Numerous topics are touched on in this thread and is difficult to answer them all.

One that is mentioned is the "apparent" 1975 prediction.

My mother was brought up in the truth and lived through the 1975 in the truth. She knew nothing of a 1975 prediction nor did anyone else in her local congregation. The misrepresentation of 1975 seemed to be sporadic, depending where people lived.

So lets say it for old times sake - The Watchtower Society, The Governing Body nor the Faithful Slave ever said that 1975 will definately be the end. The year was mentioned from assembly platforms and in a few articles but never ever ever was it said that that particular year would absolutely, unquestionably be the start of armageddon.

A poster mentioned a 1984 prediction?????? Do not know what that is.

A few of you have mentioned my apparent naughtyness in actually coming here after the resolution at the DC. This is a fair point. I am now doubting whether to come back. I feel it is good to talk.

One of my favourite scriptures is when, after some of the disciples stopped following Jesus, he turned to Peter and said "You are not going to leave also, are you?" Peters reply is simple and yet very powerful. He said "Where shall we go, you have sayings of everlasting life". Yes, Peter knew he had found the truth.

Show me a serious alternative to Jehovah's organisation? Jehovahs-witness.com??????? I do not think so.

Its ironic really - the web address is www.jehovahs-witness.com and yet it is a club for non witnesses.

Maybe you could change the web address to

    www.nothingbettertodo.com

    www.armageddonislateimoff.com

    www.iwanttosmoke.com

    www.igotcaught.co.uk

    www.sexbeforemarriageplease.co.uk

Ok, having a bit of fun.

Did you see my request? Or do you only respond to abusive statements? If so, you are as one-sided as you claim us to be.

    The Scotsman,

I posed some serious questions. Would you please answer them? Why can't any JW ever answer these? It is the basis for your whole assertion to be God's channel. Please answer.
