The "light gets brighter"...??? Have you ever read the context of that scripture??? It has absolutely NOTHING to do with truth getting brighter, learning more and more. It is comparing day and night, dark and light, good and bad. Read the context...you might be surprised. I believe it was brother Russell that said new light never contradicts old light. If that is truly the case, why do we no longer teach anything like what Russell believed??? As for "tacking", the Wt doesn't tack, it goes forward then backward, and sometimes forward again. I havn't read all the posts, but I'm sure there are a lot of these examples, as many have been posted earlier. And, what are you, a "true" JW, doing on such a board as this anyway? Hope you stay and learn that the "truth" isn't the "truth" after all.

Maybe something he read here actually tweeked his curiosity. Maybe his malicious postings are actually a defensive mechanism because he can't face the real truth about the truth. My mother was brought up in the truth and lived through the 1975 in the truth. She knew nothing of a 1975 prediction nor did anyone else in her local congregation. The misrepresentation of 1975 seemed to be sporadic, depending where people lived.

It may be that some who have been serving God have planned their lives according to a mistaken view of just what was to happen on a certain date or in a certain year. They may have, for this reason, put off or neglected things that they otherwise would have cared for. But they have missed the point of the Bible’s warnings concerning the end of this system of things, thinking that Bible chronology reveals the specific date.
