How Would You Refute JW's Claim Of Being The ONLY True Religion?

  Talk is cheap. It's easy to say their the only true religion, but as others are saying, leave it to them to prove it. Where does the Bible say salvation is thru them, or that Jesus isn't mankinds mediator, etc? When they say they were appointed in 1919, they need 1914 for their proof! They can't prove that date either. Its a real maze, and they get lost trying to make their way through it. I keep thinking of the scripture in 2 Cor 10:12, NWT says, "For we do not dare to class ourselves among some or compare ourselves with some who recommend themselves. Certainly they in measureing themselves by themselves and comparing themselves with themselves have no understanding."

  Just read a post, referring to the Silent Lambs site, that as of today, a California court said JW's must reveal their list of pedophiles!!! Would the true religion have anything to hide like this???

  True religion is defined at James 1:27 "The form of worship that is clean and undefiled from the standpoint of our God and father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their tribulation and to keep oneself without spot from the world."

  Religion (worship) of God does not appear to be a religious organization, but a way of practicing truth. Paul at first persecuted those who followed the way. Acts 9:2; 19:23. It was about this time they begin to be called Christians. Acts 11:26.

  Early Christians could be recognized by their practice and demonstration of true religion. Truth is confirmed by action or fulfillement. Bible prophecy can be recognized as true only when it becomes fulfilled. The same with true science or happinings that are confirmed by reality, which is not always the record of Jehovah's Witnessess and the Watchtower organization.

  Truth comes from everyone, even those of us who are noted as (street smart). Experience shared on this forum good or bad teach truth. Pro. 1:20 tells us: "True wisdom itself keeps crying aloud in the very street. In the public squares it keeps giving forth its voice."

  Each of us who post on this forum to expose error are doing what we can to contribute to true religion.

  Yes, and just think: at the time that Jesus Christ supposedly chose the Bible Students as his Faithful Slave, they were still celebrating Christmas, using the cross, were using pagan symbols on their publications, and were teaching "Millions Now Living Will Never Die".

  They were about as fit to serve as the Faithful Slave as were the Seventh Day Adventists, the Quakers, or the Brooklyn Dodgers for that matter.

  Hi Mini! "There is only one thing that needs to be known about the Watchtower Society and there is only one way to know it." Don Cameron, former member of a Body of Elders of Jehovah's Witnesses. I would agree with Don,his book, "Captives of a Concept" understanding the illusionary concept that holds Jehovah's Witnesses captive easily refutes their claim of being the only true religion. Remove the 1919 appointment and all the rest of it's foundation falls. I found this book to be the simpliest way to get to the core about the appointment of the Faithful and Discreet Slave in 1919.

  Back in the day--

  Me: "The jw's are the only true religion!"

  Whoever: "ALL religions claim to be the only true religion. They're all the same. You guys are no different!"

  Me: "But we have love amongst ourselves! That's the mark of the ONE true religion!!!"
  
  
  Evidence in life clearly shows that 1) they don't, and 2) other religions/non-religous/agnostic/athiests have love amongst themselves AND other people.

  Blue, sadly, I think most JWs have no idea about 1919 so that if the date was switched or even abandoned, it wouldn't create a stir.
