Interesting! So if Russell thought he was already chosen, what was there for Jesus to choose? Why did he need to inspect all religions and pick the Bible Students? (Not that I believe any of that, but poses an interesting question for JW's).

Remember now, thats from The Finished Mystery, a book credited to Russell that he didn't write. It was written by men who worshipped the guy. It's iffy that he claimed such. Then again, you never know with these clowns.

Whatever the case he was also relying on occultism to find the truth and not just on the Bible, and even the dubs consider most of his writings to be old light by now. He achieved nothing given that the dubs of today are the product of Rutherfordism and they will expell anyone that associates with the Bible Students who believe everything Russell wrote.

I can't lay my fingers on the exact page...but somewhere in the Reprints Russell said he thought he had been born justified. To be fair, he said there were others too that had similarly been born justified.

What I like about this is that it doesn't require a shred of proof. Everybody is just expected to believe it because he said so.
