Technically, since I am not Df'd or dissasociated, I am considered by Witnesses as an inactive JW. I do not actively look to get df'd as I have family that are Witnesses. If I were ever df'd, then I'd deal. But I don't look to rattle up things just for the fun of it.....What about you???
Would You/Do You Remain As A JW "Technically"???

Even if you da'd or were df'd, they still keep your card on file and theoretically make an annual visit. Even then you will always be an ex-JW never a non-JW.
You can
check-outda or be df'd any time you like, But you can never leaveBlondie

Well, at the moment I am considered an inactive one as well. After we are able to help my wifes family out I really have no care about what my status is with the organization (i have NO family in the org at all). I think it to be better to leave quietly and be seen by the congregation as just a 'weak one', but I don't know if these Elders are going to give me that kind of slack. There is a good chance they will try to come after me (and the wife). So who knows what will happen.

I never had any family in the JWs and never really cared but I can see the wisdom of remaining as an inactive JW so as not to burn the bridges with the relatives that are still in.

I think I am an inactive JW with a 10 year old bounty on his head (official "ha, we found you, guess what, you're disfellowshipped!" statement of spite). Since I joined up solo, when I was vulnerable and away from home as a young man in school some 15 years ago, (cannot believe it's been that long already), I was easy prey to their soft voice at the door compared to the other religious stuff on TV. I think that is one of their main victory marches that they have, is that softness at the front door which keeps a calm preach, instead of for instance, that fat guy on TV that shouts, and has all the pictures and artwork behind him...umm... forget his name... I think it is John Hagglesby or something...
Anyway, I left unannounced, and never heard from them since, but I am just now making a reemergence here, and I am sure they have someone who has picked up on the scent. Hopefully leading them right to a big pile of horse apples.

If you are inactive to maintain contact with witness family, you are still considered "bad association" so there is little difference than being disassociated or disfellowshiped. It may be a little easier for family to talk to you and have a meal with you, but you are still shunned to some extent.

If what you say is true, I am in the same boat because I havent been to the hall since 1981. Out of respect to my wife, who has family in the dark, I would not pursue being dissfelloshiped. Even if I wasnt considering my wife, I dont care enough about the watertower or the sheeple that reside there to pee on them or it, if it was or they was on fire.

That's brain washing for you - that religion will be with me for the rest of my life.
But say I fade from the organisation, but I never commit a sin and I live a very wholesome life (I'm really not talking about myself here, I'm a good old fashioned sinner) and say I still believe in Jehovah but I just don't do the WT bit - would I still be destroyed at armageddon as far as the jws are concerned?
I remember my father once trying to convince my jw brother that I was a good person and let a good life and that just because I wasn't a jw didn't make me an evil person, ha, ha, ha, how funny and how ridiculous!
I'm technically an apostate according the them lot, but the fact is I'm not an apostate, I am not a jw. I would obviously have to belive their clap trap to think that I was an apostate.

I'm out and announced out and wouldnt have it any other way. I dont want to be associated with those lies, especially when our good Lord revisits us.
