I am just curious, what practices do JW have that would be considered demonic? I am not clear about what the memorial service would entail that would be demonic? Oviously I am not a JW, however a good friend (or ex friend not sure of the status at this point) is a JW.

I honestly cam't think of a single JW practice that is demonic. There are quite a few JW practices that are tedious, boring and dumb, but demonic, no.

What do you consider to be demonic?

The Watchtower Society considers the following:

    astrology

    seances

    sorcery

    spiritism

    hypnotism

    divination

    palmistry

    crystal ball gazing

    spirit mediums

    yoga

    mantra chanting

    seances

    ouija boards

    tarot cards

    horoscopes

    foretelling the future

    amulets

    witchcraft

I can't think of anything in an official Witness memorial service that would be considered demonistic either by JWs or non-JWs. Did you have something in mind?

I may be mistaken but I saw somewhere on the board refrences to deomic when refering to the Memorial Service.

I wouldn’t say jws have demonic practices.

Because the jws have two classes of Christians, the "little flock" of 144 000 members who go to heaven and the all the other faithful ones who remain on earth to live forever.

At the memorial service only member of the little flock partake of the emblems. Which means that in most congregations of jws the bread and wine is passed from one person to the next, yet no one partakes. The memorial service reminds one of the occult, since the not partaking of the emblems, bread and wine, is similar to the rejection of Jesus . That's all.

    Memorial service = funeral talk/services

Memorial service = Nisan 14, Passover, when all JWs gather to watch the wine and the bread pass by without eating or drinking, except for 8,500 people (worldwide)

A song is sung, a prayer is said, a 30 minute talk is given telling why no one will be partaking and the wine and bread are passed. Then another song is sung, and a prayer is said. It is very boring but not demonic.

Who made the comment? What might have been the topic of the thread?

I don’t remember who posted it, but I do remember that that was the comparison made.

That the memorial, or another JW term, Lord's Evening Meal, is demonic? Is what way?

Thanx Freetose... I was trying to go threw the posts and can not find it. I am just trying to understand as much as I can, so that when the time comes and I can help my friend I am armed with real knowlege.

    hello brunhilda

Perhaps considering what Jesus's thoughts were for the thinking of the religious leaders of his day may help. He said they were offspring of vipers and from their father the devil so if you consider if todays religious people act like them then they are demonic, doing things in opposition to Christ and the Father.

Here you will read many accounts of harsh treatment by the JW'S and their ways upon people ,so evaluate for yourself what actually is demonic ,whether it's practising magical arts or powers, or seeing the destruction of peoples lives by people of the Watchtower Society ie marraige attitudes, blood, telling people they are cannibals if taking an organ transplant and then changing their minds and saying it's a conscience matter now, etc etc

    Steve
