Hey everybody, I had an interesting time pushing a tract that I don't believe in this weekend. I had to develop my own method of placing it without having to talk about it, since I fear if I was confronted by someone asking "Do you people think you're the only true religion", I might break down and tell the person at the door "No, I don't". The witness at the door with me would scream in terror, and I would be insta-DFed. Haha.
The suggestion made by the brother conducting the meeting for service was that we could tuck the tract in the magazines. (Thought this was odd, and somewhat wimpy, but a great idea). So hide the tract in the mags I did!
My question is, for those here who are placing this crap, how are you dealing with it? How about any Pioneers or people going out during the week when you CAN't use the mags for cover?
Please Discuss
BTW, if any of you find me a hypocrite for not believing this is the true religion and still going out door-to-door, you're right, and I don't care. Anyone familiar with the JW system of control should realize that at this point, I have NO CHOICE!
Active JWs, hows KN37 going?

Have you ever tried pressing the doorbell button but not pushing it in? i.e. so to your partner it appears as if you've rung the bell, but it doesn't ring and you hope the householders don't hear you.
Obviously can't work on every door, one door I did on Saturday had a dog, so they heard me, and I offered them the tract, but they just said thanks and accepted it, and hopefully (likely) threw it promptly away. I won't be going out for at least the next 2 weeks now though, so hoping to skip the rest of the campaign! Edit: Most reports from within the KH suggest that most houses are accepting it, probably because of how quick and simple the presentations are. -

StillGroggy you know your situation; you do what YOU have to do.
I believe most all here would agree with me.

Hi There, not much response yet. We had the dubz call, they knew that my wife and I would be at work, so they thought they were safe, but my son was home, and as awkward as it was, the sister insisted that he take it. He had a room full of school friends there, so he promptly tore the thing up when she was gone. He said the woman with her looked scared, she must be the one that the sister was studying with while we were still there. Sad.......she didnt run, now she is getting hooked up, even though her gut is telling her it isn't right to be disturbing people. RUN FOREST RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We still went out bible bashing when we didnt believe it any longer, you get more and more incongruent with your heart as you go on, and then one day you can not live a lie any longer, strength to you stillgroggy..

Well I have made up excuses for not going out in service so far. So it hasn't been a problem yet. It probably won't work for the entire campaign so I plan saying I put them in magazines and place magazines. Their encouraging placing magazines on Sat. Of course there will be a corresponding number of tracts in a trash can somewhere. It is hard enough for me to place magazines let alone those tracts. It is far safer to knock than to ring the doorbell. I always knock very softly. I often go many Sats without speaking to anyone. I am surprised no one has noticed yet. I haven't heard anything about how its going in the cong. No stories of persectution or hundreds instantly converting. No one seems to excited.

I visited my mom yesterday and noticed she had some there, but she didn't offer me one. I'm such a sinful bastard, beyond hope, and not worthy of such a scrap of paper.

Even IF every jw placed all 50 of their alloted tracts, it would still be a failure if success is measured by reaching, not even all, but most of the world field. Here's why. IF every jw receives 50 tracts, and IF every jw places EVERY tract, they would only reach about 300 mil. persons. This is only a fraction of the 6.7 bil. world population.
To put it in perspective, it was reported a few days ago that the U.S. population alone has just reached 300 mil. This means that even by the most successful standard, if all 6 mil. jws just covered the U.S., every other person on the planet wouldn't even get a whiff at this tract.
The chart below illustrates this. the red sliver represents 6 mil. jws, the blue is the extent of the world population they would reach if EVERY jw placed EVERY tract they receive -- doubtful -- and the green the rest of the doomed world. The second chart shows how many might survive if the jws increased to 9 mil. as a result of the campaign -- and that is highly unlikely. The currently teach that not each individual will have to get the message, but I would say this shows they fall far short of even that.
Hope this works

One of the sisters in my hall came by Saturday, but obviously didn't offer me the tract. I already have a few that my wife got at the hall.
Look, if you have to go out is service, you have to go. I'll never condemn someone on this board for that. We've been there, we know.
Just do the best you can, according to your own situation.

Sorry I didn't address your question directly. I got so tied up with trying to get the pic to show up :). But I would also say just do what you have to do and take it at your own pace. Take comfort in knowing that many have been there, and I'm sure that there are many more 'still in' who feel the same as you do, and wondering if they are alone in there feelings also. I remember when I first learned of the 'fake ringing the doorbell trick' - I wondered why I hadn't thought of it before. Axel
