The magician? He is unbelievable - I don't see how it can be smoke and mirrors out on the street. Some of it seems impossible unless it is staged.

Do some searching on google. He does stage his videotaped tricks. First time I saw him on TV I thought there are demons for sure. All of his tricks are just tricks.
I was surprised when he went to Hati and did magic in front of juju priests. They were frightened at the simplest tricks. Which tells me they don't have demons helping them either. Voodoo is really just a bunch of pot smoking, mushroom chewing etc.

I love David Blaine, but his magic is still tricks. Really, really great tricks. He's the best I've ever seen, just about. His physical adventures (in ice, atop a tower, submerged) are so much more.

Yes David Blaine and Criss Angel are the two great illusionists of our day, and thats just what they are, illusionists.

I have no doubt about his ability as an 'illusionist'. But some of the things he does on the street corner seem so amazing to those watching close up - like when he throws a deck of cards at the window and the card the person had selected is on the inside of the window.
As far as cards go - he can handle them the best I ever saw.

Being an ametuer magician, I have on more than one occasion had to show how Blaine does his illusions for some of the Funny-mentalist morons in my church, in order to dispel the "David Blaine is satanic" myth.
David Blaine cultivates that spooky aura with his odd looks, and voice inflection, but he is far from satanic. Personally, I think he is one of the best magicians in the world, though I prefer Lance Burton's classical magic act, over the gritty street magic of Blaine

David Blaine is pretty good. But I figured out how he performed his street "levitation" the first time I saw him perform it. Freaks my son right out when I do it.
