As it is illegal for government to disclose who voted for who, you can vote with absolute privacy. You can vote by mail, or by signed proxy (I think), but my advice is, Go down and vote, but, exclaim to the kingdom hall that you were moved to go to the voting booths to declare to the neighborhood that you are voting for Jehovah, Claim 10 hours, and spend the rest of November Saturdays watching TV.

Why is it okay to register for the draft but wrong to register to vote?

Registering to vote indicates independent thinking.

Good question, Leolaia. It could be that in the US people are not required by law to vote or register to vote while young men at 18 are required by law to register for the draft. Thus it seems to be a case of obeying the superior authorities. The Selective Service system does have a way of opting out as a minister. In countries where registering to vote and voting is required, JWs probably just write in an acceptable individual, i.e., Jesus Christ or God's kingdom. Blondie

Well i didi it! and did not feel guilty either. It was kinda fun, it almost felt like i was gambling, as i rushed to see the results, as though i was going to win something...very weird feeling.

Anyhow the polling place that went to is not in the same area as most of the JW's live, so i dont think my cover was blown.
