From my point of view, he explains some facts about the wt's teachings and then states he believes those teachings had an impact on Christian Longo's behavior.
His article sounds like he's being really clear that this is his opinion.
Maybe you could elaborate on what part you find objectionable?

Some of us who have lived through the religious experience can relate to the down side of those teachings. If you are entering the religion as an adult, you may not see things the way children do. I can vouch for the fact that children do react very strongly to the constant death and doom discussions, etc. Much of the imagery and philosophy are beyond the comprehension of children and they are negatively impacted by it. They may seem to be processing it just fine at the time, only to be able to articulate years later how they developed skewed and extreme beliefs as a result.
