This story completely nullifies the prodigal son illustration... So instead of welcoming you back with open arms, like Jesus said, they say god will be too dense to recognise you and blast you to smitherines?!

There is a reason this story is not in the bible. (Besides the fact that they didn't have guns back then.) And everytime they use an illustration that is not found in the Bible you can be pretty sure that it's not a biblical teaching...

Thank God I'm an atheist... pun intended.

What is disturbing about talks like this is that the average JW absorbs them into his/her subconscious. Why should somebody's FANTASY affect your subconscious?? If you think the bible is fantasy then this is layering fantasy over fantasy.

The worst of it is that it is fiction and speculation and isn't even one of those cute anecdotes they are so fond of.

At least anecdotes claim to be based on actual events.
