    Greetings JH,

:It's as if these elders are seen like leaders and they are to be imitated.

As if?...... There's never been any "as if" from my recollections of those creeps. That's precisely what they vie for.

We had one of the biggest intimidators in our congregation I've ever had dealings with. He even had a couple of drones attempt to copy him whenever they (the drones) gave a talk. It used to make me want to puke. It still does!

If I remember correctly, that's what watchtower wants us to do. Laud them, and wank their egos. After all, so say watchtower, they are "worthy of double honor".

    Greetings Outaservice,

:Man, I feel sorry for the ones that had the Dodge Airies!

Yeah! Remember those pieces of shit. What a sad excuse for an automobile.

Worse than having an influence on what sort of car people bought, the elder's with a strong personality in our cong influenced how the men treated others. It turned many of them in to A1, nonfeeling and self righteous asses.

    Glad to leave them behind.

All of the elders in my congregation were rather mild-mannered. But some of their wives ruled the congregation with an iron fist!

Sorry F-F, they weren't really window washers, that seems to be the stereotypical dub on this forum. They were pretty much just under-educated guys trying to support their families. Also, I heard that Taurus were going to be cut from the production line. I thought Satan was the ruler around here! Did you guys ever hear that pioneer joke about what kind of car they drove in the garden of eden? well, I actually don't know exactly because I don't have my bible handy, but it was a Honda because a scripture said they all were in one accord. bu-dum-dum!

Damn, and all these years I thought Jehover drove Adam and Eve out in a Fury.

It reminds me of the saying "walk with a person with a limp long enough and you finish up limping yourself, like a crowd .of non thinkers all following the pide piper.

Of course, as luck would have it, I had the most feared elder within a couple hundred miles in my hall.

Yeah, i've met a couple of people like that in my life time. Kind of like Ta'verns from the wheel of time series.

Reminds me of the lenny kravitz song, cult of personality.

I knew this one 'brother' who i knew growing up who everyone loved adored. He'd start trends like wearing bike chain's as bracelets, playing the guitar or BMX bike riding.

It seemed like whatever he was doing(or was dabbling in at the moment) hordes of other witness children would follow suit.

What blew my mind was when he chose to become an electrician and several other teens (3 guys, 1 sisters) went into the field after high school. I'm pretty sure he'll become a very effective elder one day.

There is an elder in my congregation that has a very strong personality.

Sorry but I just don't buy into this strong personality myth. This label is usually attached to Noisy, bossy, domineering, selfish, Bast***s.

It is often quiet people who have far more real strength in their personalities.
