Wanderer: have you taken the Myer's Briggs based personality test on Humanmetrics.com?

    Hey wanderer,
If you leave, that's your choice but don't be surprised if I don't say hello when we meet at the grocery store! What are you trying to start your OWN board?

You CAN'T leave, new people show up everyday and misery does love company... besides, we're all holding our breath to see how this search for a potential mate thing comes out. ***Little hint*** you might already be in the right place for that one.

I really appreciate your (thoughtful and sincere) posts.

We've got one disadvantage here and that is it's blind technology as we can't see expressions and hear inflections of voice so it's sometimes hard to pick the full understanding of others thoughts ,and then there's the fact we are all from different places and backgrounds. I've felt ignored many times here and wonder if it's my fault but then I consider this and think of how much I've learnt and been encouraged here and I get over it.

Good thread. Like someone said, compared to most internet forums this is pretty tame. There are always people who will hide behind anonymity and choose to at best patronise and at worse insult. If I meet a stranger in a bar I'd try and get on and engage in friendly debate: I wouldn't lay into him because he didn't believe in the same things as I did, or sneer at him because he couldn't always support his arguments. If I did I might get a glass in the face. I treat these forums the same way. Give people respect. I love this forum and there are loads of cool, funny, intelligent, interesting people here. There are also some who are seriously up themselves. But we all have a common bond which gives us a point of reference. You should stick around.

Hi Wanderer, Nice to have you back here.

I think that that forums such as this are similar to driving a car on a crowded highway. You have those that do the speed limit, let other people merge into a lane, etc. Then there are those who have road rage, drive aggressively and are angry because other drivers aren't going fast enough.

We're all on the same road and will eventually get to our personal destinations. Some are just more impatient than others.

    r.

I havent really seen much of what you talk about, but then I tend to stick to certain types of thread (fluff and light hearted stuff, or human concern ones).

I agree there are lots of different people on this board and I think that is one if its strengths. If I have ever posted a question I gets lots of varied replies which I appreciate, even the ones I dont agree with.

I agree there are some intellectual snobs here, as well as some geniunely intellectual people who can always be relied on to post a thorough and well researched response. I avoid the posters whose style I dont like - its not hard to do.

Just like life really, hang round your buddies, avoid people you dont like, sometimes engage in discussion and learn something new or some new viewpoint.

Oh, and I always recognise people as human beings here and not just words.

    vive le difference!!

It's a tough world out there. It's time to learn to handle a tough conversation. Either that or Google "ex-Jehovahs Witness nonconfrontational ultrasensitive discussion chat weiners"

    Hello Wanderer and everyone

I have to agree with Wozadummy's. The written word is very different than the orally spoken one. A missplaced comma can change the meaning of a whole sentence. I am no Shakespeare or Cervantes, and I can only hope that what I write is not miss understood.

You're right about the many personality types, but diiferent colors and flowers is what makes the world beautiful.

This forum is quite tame compared to some. I moderate one which hosts people from a very broad spectrum of spiritual and philosophical theories, from Christian to Satanist, to Wiccan, to Buddhist. And many of them are PhD, professors, professionals from a vast array of fields and a number of younger people.

The amount of vitriol spewed upon that forum at times matches or exceeds that of here. It takes having tough skin.
