The Governing Body finally figured out that the Witness people are stupid. They're trying to sell all sizzle and no steak and it's working.

They used to have these dates and predictions, now they just have the predictions (no dates).

They used to have these "offers" of a printed hard bound book and three printed booklets presented with a memorized 6 minute sermon at the stranger's doors. Now they throw down a recycled paper folded tract and don't even ring the bell, and the Witness people think it's just great.

Hi jgnat. No, the WTS keeps very good records, sort of anal that way. They will repeat theme scriptures for WT study articles though. It is no accident that this yeartext is on the heels of a campaign about the end of false religion. This text will be up on the wall of all KHs for 12 months for all to see as they look towards the podium at least 2 days a week and at every circuit assembly/special assembly day.

What will they do for 2008 though?

Well, maybe we should be thankful for the warning. How many religions warn us of the impending destruction, not very many. How many religions peddle false ideologies? LOTS. Are JW one, or have they just got a few things wrong? Each person is responsible for his or her own relationship with their creator and so on and so forth.

But, I cannot get my head around this fact. Jehovahs Witnesses (our beloved 'mother' the WTBTS ) is telling us not to seek an education or career in this world, as it could end any minute and will end with fast impendment - so , why are they building luxury apartments in NY if the end is near, why have they paid out the biggest settlement in their history recently ( fatal car crash, bethel member driving ) to protect their future interests and avoid a precedent being set? And why, if I am advised not to seek a higher education which could take 2/3 three years, are the local congregation asking for an extra £100 pounds a week towards renovation of the KH in eight years time " so that we can bring glory to Jehovahs name*" .

* Er, haven't you (WTBTS) dragged that name through the mud with your letting children die without a blood transfusion, ( Thats child ABUSE. If I want to die for my belief that transfusions are ungodly - thats fine I am an adult. Children cannot have their own mind and even more interestingly, I recently read an extremely high ranking surgeon who deals in warzones (sorry don't have name to hand) that children DIE TOO EASILY - they don't understand the need to fight death!!! In other words, an ill child deprived of blood needed will deteriorate FASTER and be more likely to slip away than an adult! IT should be ILLEGAL!!!!!!!! Also their allowing alledged paedophiles to run wild and free ( Two witnesses rule even though Jesus relieved Christians of the Mosaic Law!!) Ah, JEHOVAHS WITNESSES. Gotta love 'em. Even though we're all gonna be destroyed . They're ok though, even if they allow their child to die by withholding life saving treatment. The bible says I think in Timothy that : "a man who neglects his family is worse than a man without faith." . And that in (is it Ezeikiel?) YHWH stated that when the Israelites were sacrificing their kids to him " It never evene entered into my heart.". To me they should be charged with inditement to manslaughter - minimum. Exactly what I was thinking. Its the usual, things are going bad for the WT. They face strong attacks from the outside now , especially since the UN and child abuse scandals. The Internet has opened up peoples minds to them, anyone with access to a computer finds enough information to put them off. Also the numbers of JW's leaving is hitting all time highs. They have to stop it.

This tract campaign is not so much aimed at the non-JW , but is to "upbuild" those still in. Lets have another "End of False Religion" campaign. Assemblies, conventions, Watchtower studies are all gear to make those still in think twice about leaving and to frighten them if they leave.

As said they can't set a date anymore, but they can "dangle the carrot" that the end is near. Emphasising the "end is near" part. Top it all off by making the next years text "The Great Day of Jehovah is near!"

They must be in their element, all muttering amongst themselves. "See the end is soon, so-and-so shouldn't have left" "They're going to get it for all thiose lies about the UN and child abuse"

Can't you just hear them.

I know I'm thankful for the warning. With each failed prediction, my gratitude grows more and more (for the fact that I'm no longer a JW).

I like to think that the 'Great Fall of the Watchtower is Near!' I have a feeling that that is far more likely than the 'Great day of Jehovah!'

Honesty - I have said the same as you myself many times. I KNOW I'd rather die right now than live forever with a world full of Jehovah's Witnesses. I know for a fact which would be the far worse fate and it certainly isn't dying.

LanDi - You're right! 'Mother' AKA The Watchtower, is a lying, twisted and corrupt organization, but as with all things evil, very clever with it! She deserves what she gets.
