oh yeah... A buddy of mine was in a judicial commitee and he decided to imply something about my fiance and I's courtship. So when Me and my fiance arrive at our new congregation we're greeted with a meeting with the elders. I was furious and demanded to know what exactly he said (Which of course they won't tell you, you can't fight what you can't see). We challenged it and they went back to my "buddy" who recanted.

However, in the 6 months of back and forth "red-tape" we were treated like crap by the elders and I couldn't have any privileges, and they didn't let us have our wedding in the KH. (a big shame for dubs)

Evidently my witness buddy was looking up my video rentals at his job at blockbuster too, cuz they threw that at me too. I guess somebody was offended by my pg-13s.

    This religion is bullshit.

Looking back I would've been better off if I got DFed. I probably would've been dissillusioned and been on here with yall instead of "waiting on jehoopla"

A lot of people got into judicial problems because stupid elders accepted hearsay as evidence. And just because 10 people believed something heard----it doesn't make it true!

As soon as I can start a thread about more JW lunacy, wait till you hear this!

    Minimus,

I hear you were so bad you made the angels cry...rogbell.gif

Anyway, no, that didn't happen to me, but I know there was a MS in my congregation who got removed because of a sister complaining about his behavior. The truth was she was hot on him, but couldn't get him.

DF'd by hearsay, eh or the accusation of only one person? I'd say that that elder body was out of control totally and that their "victim" was afraid to call them on it. That's a case where it can be advantageous to drag the CO into it right away. Also, line up your own witnesses to your actions.

I knew of a case where a sister was accused and there was no proof (a non sexual accusation). The sister in question just called 2 other elders who were unaware of the accusations by the first 2 elders (working outside the jurisdiction of the elder body). Then she wrote a letter to the CO and cc'd WT headquarters, keeping it brief and showing how the accusations were absurd and easily proved wrong.

The first 2 elders had their heads handed them on a platter by the elder body and eventually WT headquarters. The CO apologized to the sister (couldn't get the first 2 elders to apologize to God).

The important thing to remember is to complain to the right people, the ones with the authority and to get your proof together and keep it simple. Don't make personal comments to the elders about their motives or intelligence.

I did have an experience along these lines. I didn't receive any talking to from the elders, but I could tell that "eyes were upon me." Anyway, I was living in tijuana mexico at the time. My wife was a very kind person and always willing to help out those who needed assistance. One of the people she helped out was a young girl named flor. One of her sons got flor pregnant and then broke up with her so my wife kind of took her in as a daughter and helped her with the baby. Well, I gave flor a ride one day unchaperoned. It wasn't a long ride, but I did have to drive right through the center of our territory to give the ride and a number of people saw it. I didn't think a thing about it at the time, but there was a markedly different feel at the kingdom hall.

Situations like this are very beneficial, however, in helping one of the affllicted see that they truly are a part of a cult. If this really were god's organization, then why would he need humans. Why would anyone EVER be encouraged to pass on heresay as a SUPPOSED PROTECTION for the congregation? Wouldn't god and the angels pretty much have that aspect covered?

The jw appear to be a friendly group of conscientious bible lovers but its all a facade. By the time you realize that the level of back-stabbing and gossip and nepotism and such is as high or higher than the secular world, you've already bet your reputation and credibility on the validity of what the wt teaches. Being a jw is like being an out of control gambler. A gambler looks back at all the money that was lost and is even more convinced that he has to continue trying for that one big strike or his whole life will be a sham. Its the same with the jw. The only thing is that at least the gambler actually has a chance of strking it rich.

Ha! When I was in my twenties and HOT I might add (but didnt know it) some sweet sisters who I thought were my friends started to circulate some dreadful gossip about me around the congregation.
A married brother came up to me and told me I should know what was going around the congregation about me.
    Good God!!!!!

I went home to my worldly father and told him the nasty stuff. He was so mad he went down to the Kingdom Hall and chewed an elder out and demanded an apology or a statement read to clear my sterling otherwise untarnished reputation!

The girls were talked to by the elder and a talk was given the next Tuesday night about how murderous gossip is!
One of the girls killed herself not long after that. Too bad. I cried not.

Yes, the "heresay" was taken as "gods honest truth" in our hall. Every elder ran with whatever heresay they could get and those accused were sent to the cleaners.

It was an absolute witch hunt in our hall. At one point there were 9 elders in our hall for 100 publishers. IMAGINE THE CONTROL! Plus these elders had relatives in other congregations who were on the look out for anyone misbehaving in our hall.

I can't tell you how many times heresay had me in the back room. Especially since most of the elders kids went to my highschool. I was an elders kid but never turned in anyone.
