    Math. 7 v 21.

Not everyone saying to me "Lord Lord" will enter into the kingdom of the heavens but the one doing the will of my father who is in the heavens will.

Proverbs 13:12 -- "Expectation postponed is making the heart sick"

Luke 16: 19-22 "...There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores and longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores. "The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried. In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.'

(1 Kings 17:21-22) 21 And he proceeded to stretch himself upon the child three times and call to Jehovah and say: "O Jehovah my God, please, cause the soul of this child to come back within him." 22 Finally Jehovah listened to E·li´jah’s voice, so that the soul of the child came back within him and he came to life.

(Acts 20:9-12) 9 Seated at the window, a certain young man named Eu´ty·chus fell into a deep sleep while Paul kept talking on, and, collapsing in sleep, he fell down from the third story and was picked up dead. 10 But Paul went downstairs, threw himself upon him and embraced him and said: "STOP raising a clamor, for his soul is in him." 11 He now went upstairs and began the meal and took food, and after conversing for quite a while, until daybreak, he at length departed. 12 So they took the boy away alive and were comforted beyond measure.

I don't remember seeing this scripture unless it was applied to those outside the jw:

Matthew 12:7 "But if you had known what this means, 'I desire mercy and not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the guiltless.

I ran across this at www.jwfacts.com. It was in the disfellowshipping section.

Ecclesiastes 12:6-7: "....Remember him—before the silver cord is severed, or the golden bowl is broken; before the pitcher is shattered at the spring, or the wheel broken at the well, and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it..."

Silver cord , From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Silver cord is in metaphysical literature a term referring to the connection between the physical body, astral body and Higher Self.

During astral projection many report to see this silver cord connecting them their physical bodies. Projectors claim they can (at will or otherwise) see a silver cord linking their astral form to their physical body. This cord mainly appears to a beginning projector as assurance they will not become lost. However, even experienced projectors find it useful, claiming it is a fast way to return to the body. It is said that if this cord breaks then you die.

The term is derived from Ecclesiastes 12:6-12:7 in the Old Testament

This is a good topic. I think most of us would agree that like one poster said, nearly all JW scriptures lose their WT significance once the blinders come off.

In addition to the many excellent texts here are some more. Depending on the frame of mind of the person, any one of the texts in this thread could be a "Silver Bullet"

Sorry but I used the NWT for the benefit of lurkers.

Proof that claiming that the day of (the Lord) is here is not reasonable.

(2 Thessalonians 2:2) not to be quickly shaken from YOUR reason nor to be excited either through an inspired expression or through a verbal message or through a letter as though from us, to the effect that the day of Jehovah is here

Any dub who spoke like Paul here would be counseled and shunned

(Ephesians 3:17-19) . . .to have the Christ dwell through [YOUR] faith in YOUR hearts with love.

(Romans 13:14) 14But put on the Lord Jesus Christ

Not very flattering towards JW theology

(John 14:23) 23 In answer Jesus said to him: "If anyone loves me, he will observe my word, and my Father will love him, and we shall come to him and make our abode with him.

    (John 6:53-54) . . .Accordingly Jesus said to them: "Most truly I say to YOU, Unless YOU eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, YOU have no life in yourselves. 54 He that feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has everlasting life, and I shall resurrect him at the last day;

Dubs can skirt around Thomas' exclamation when he put his hand in the wounds of Christ, but why the soldiers fell to the ground when Jesus said "I AM" has never been adequately dealt with in JW literature!

(John 18:6) . . .However, when he said to them: "I am," they drew back and fell to the ground.

So let's get this straight, we should all have the pioneer spirit like Paul? Hmmmm!

No "Back Calls" for Paul! .....Or whatever they are calling them now.

    (Romans 15:20) . . .In this way, indeed, I made it my aim not to declare the good news where Christ had already been named, in order that I might not be building on another man’s foundation;

So explain to me why the CO's sin and the errors of the elders must wait on "Jehovah" but the rest of us must face the music now?

(Romans 14:10-12) . . .But why do you judge your brother? ... 12 So, then, each of us will render an account for himself to God.

We need the Watchtower, and the rest of it's uninspired publications to learn the truth. There is no other scriptural way to do it! Right?

(1 John 2:26-27) 26 These things I write YOU about those who are trying to mislead YOU. 27 And as for YOU, the anointing that YOU received from him remains in YOU, and YOU do not need anyone to be teaching YOU; but, as the anointing from him is teaching YOU about all things, and is true and is no lie, and just as it has taught YOU, remain in union with him.

(Hebrews 8:11) 11 "‘And they will by no means teach each one his fellow citizen and each one his brother, saying: "Know Jehovah!" For they will all know me, from [the] least one to [the] greatest one of them.

(John 16:13) . . .However, when that one arrives, the spirit of the truth, he will guide YOU into all the truth,. . .

(John 14:26) . . .But the helper, the holy spirit, which the Father will send in my name, that one will teach YOUall things and bring back to YOUR minds all the things I told YOU. . .

Who are the other sheep that Jesus spoke about. The people in the audience of one of Booze Rutherford's rants, or the audience that Paul's words were aimed at?

    There are two hopes right?

(Ephesians 2:13-16) 13 But now in union with Christ Jesus YOU who were once far off have come to be near by the blood of the Christ. 14 For he is our peace, he who made the two parties one and destroyed the wall in between that fenced them off. 15 By means of his flesh he abolished the enmity, the Law of commandments consisting in decrees, that he might create the two peoples in union with himself into one new man and make peace; 16 and that he might fully reconcile both peoples in one body to God through the torture stake, because he had killed off the enmity by means of himself.

(Ephesians 4:4-6) . . .One body there is, and one spirit, even as YOU were called in the one hope to which YOU were called; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all [persons], who is over all and through all and in all.

Lastly, would Paul have gone if summoned to a judicial committee?

(1 Corinthians 4:3) 3 Now to me it is a very trivial matter that I should be examined by YOU or by a human tribunal.. . .

The WTS uses the following scripture frequently regarding marrying a non-JW:

    (Deuteronomy 7:1-4) 7

"When Jehovah your God at last brings you into the land to which you are going so as to take possession of it, he must also clear away populous nations from before you, the Hit´tites and the Gir´ga·shites and the Am´or·ites and the Ca´naan·ites and the Per´iz·zites and the Hi´vites and the Jeb´u·sites, seven nations more populous and mighty than you are. 2 And Jehovah your God will certainly abandon them to you, and you must defeat them. You should without fail devote them to destruction. You must conclude no covenant with them nor show them any favor. 3 And you must form no marriage alliance with them. Your daughter you must not give to his son, and his daughter you must not take for your son.4 For he will turn your son from following me, and they will certainly serve other gods; and Jehovah’s anger will indeed blaze against YOU, and he will certainly annihilate you in a hurry.

But neglects to mention this scripture where a law allows an Israelite to marry a non-Jew:

(Deuteronomy 21:10-13) 10 "In case you go out to the battle against your enemies and Jehovah your God has given them into your hand and you have carried them away captive; 11 and you have seen among the captives a woman beautiful in form, and you have got attached to her and taken her for your wife,12 you must then bring her into the midst of your house. She must now shave her head and attend to her nails, 13 and remove the mantle of her captivity from off her and dwell in your house and weep for her father and her mother a whole lunar month; and after that you should have relations with her, and you must take possession of her as your bride, and she must become your wife.
