- because they had help building the football stadium.
Okay, what stadium did they have help building and from whom? If it is from the USA, this totally TICKS ME OFF! Why should the USA build football stadiums. If a country doesn't have enough money for football, who gives a rats ass! Is this where our tax dollars go? To help third world countries have entertainment? God!
If we built more football stadiums, and dropped fewer bombs, we might have more friends around the world, and fewer enemies. That's what the U.S. did after World War II with the Marshall Plan and in short order our enemies, Germany, Italy, and Japan, became our friends and allies.
Once the terrorists are brought to justice, it might be something for the U.S. to think about. If it helps bring about more peace, and less need to spend megabucks on wars, it would be an excellent use of tax funds.
I was the one who saw the show last night ----and who paid for the friggin' football field was not the most pertinent point.
The woman being tied, forced to kneel down, shot through the head from behind, her brains shooting onto the football field, and then her exposed legs politely covered over for chasteness - all on film - that was the pertinent point.
As for who paid for them to have some damned recreation besides shooting men, women, & children, I don't know ---- but it wasn't the Taliban. You just made the same point that the Taliban leader did - it's more important who paid for the damned field than killing a woman.
Carl Sagan on balancing openness to new ideas with skeptical scrutiny..."if you are open to the point of gullibility and have not an ounce of skeptical sense-you cannot distinguish useful ideas from worthless ones."
I agree with nearly everything you said in this thread, and I don't like it one bit! Something's going on around here, and I demand an investigation!!! [>:(]
