Don't EVER call yourself a "coward" for not coming out and telling them how bogus they are. They never listen anyway. One does what one needs to escape. Truth is... YOU ARE BRAVE, REASONING, AND A SURVIVOR.

It's not cowardice - you chose an option that allows you to leave as unscathed as possible. Kudos to you!
I suggest you don't post any more of your personal details, such as marriage, kids, extended family, etc., in case it gets back and you're idfentified. But only you know how much you have to lose should you leave in a more overt way. Welcome to the first step of freedom

Congratulations for reaching this point. As you have noticed, you are not alone in this journey. I hope you are aware that, since you cannot unlearn what you know, you cannot back up. Yet the journey ahead is going to have some unavoidable pain. After the rocky ride you will emerge with a real life, probably completely different from your past life.
I'm amused by where you are at this point, still an elder trying to find an escape door. You are not alone in this either. I remember it well. Some tragic events happen to come together that forced my exit even more quickly than I could have hoped.
