I do pray in my own way a meditative sort of thing not in a formal way as I was indoctrinated to do. I believe that there is a God because this universe didn't just happen out of nowhere without some kind of order. As for my future I believe we will all be judged by how we treat one another.

I can't say I've recently prayed to anyone, but I'm coming round to the idea that prayer may be a powerfull form of meditation which could be good for us.

ok, to add a twist to the serious question...I am thinking that if calling out , "Oh God, Oh God" is praying.... wellllllll, I may have done that.
Drum roll please!

There are three stages of prayer, not just the act of beseaching. If one only asks then assumes some form of divine intervention will do the work, sorry, ain't gonna be anyone up there! If we are "believers" then beseaching must be followed by rational decision making (volition) then action. Think of it as a "do-it-yourself" kit that requires it being opened up and completed following the instructions. If done in accordance with the "divine standards" (beatitudes) the least that will happen is you will come out the other end a much better person.

I pray under all circumstances. While I've had a lot of problems over the years, prayers have definitely been answered, although not always as I wished or expected, but always for my best.
Wouldn't go a day without it!

Yes, until I learned that Witnesses do not feel that Jehovah could be of help in some situations. So I started to limit what I asked for. Interesting enough, when I left the religion and Christianity, I learned there were ways to communicate with the spirit world that would only be limited by research and fear to bring about that which you desire.

Well I prayed to Jehovah in desperation and felt instantly he was going to help me. Things happened and now im out of the org
Actually I prayed yesterday, first time in a long time, to get my daughter and SIL out.................
I dont know if hell listen because of the scripture that says he only listens to prayers by those who believe in him and im not sure I do anymore.......................it all sounds so crazy!

My theological perspective is changing daily, as I grow out of the eternal bonds of spiritual childhood that shackled me as a Jw. But I [apparently among the silent minority here] do pray daily - not to Jehovah, for even if that is a name that could be used to identify the Father, to pray using that name is too 'JWish' for me now. I want to leave that entirely behing with no reminders in my life.
So yes I pray and daily. Jesus is usually addressed as I address the Father.
