I agree rebel. THey are feelings but also thughts about displeasing God. I would rather die that be infected with hiv or have my liver destroyed. THat is how I feel now healthy. If I am facing immediate death, I really dont know what I will do. Probably I would want life and risk it
Are Blood Tranfusions as dangerous and risky and the WTS claim?

Fisherman,
Emotions are trained; phobias are learned. Immerse yourself in good science. If you want reading suggestions on the subject I have plenty to recommend.
At the end of the day, when it comes to healthcare, we all want what is best for whatever condition we have. For those concerned about displeasing God in relation to blood, I recommend the article Jehovah’s Witnesses and the Apostolic Decree to Abstain from Blood. You can read the entire article here: http://web.archive.org/web/20020803100020/www.jwbloodreview.org/AbstainFromBlood.html
If you want to start putting fear of blood based medicines into perspective, I suggest you consider the facts and statistics at the following two web sites:

Thoughts about displeasing God......I hadn't thought about that......maybe because I had stopped believing that many years before I was faced with my medical choice. I imagine it would be doubly hard in that situation.

A news story here in the UK today, may very well have a lot of JWs saying " I told you so"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Patients' vCJD risk 'substantial
A study of transfusion patients given blood contaminated with the human form of mad cow disease has indicated the 24 still alive are at "substantial" risk.
Prof John Collinge's assessment follows his investigation into the third person infected from the original group of 66. The patient, the first to be diagnosed with variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (vCJD) while alive, has since died.

Marvin, thanks for your links and info. Much appreciated. Valuable.
I have my feelings about BTs because of wts teachings but also because of medical evidence documenting the dangers. If not for the wts I never would have felt as I do. I am happy that the wts has exposed the other side of blood adverting me not to trust medical science blindly.
I think that I will avoid blood when possible without being a martyr. I want bloodles medicine. I am doing research to reach a conclusion whether I will ever risk getting blood treatments under certain conditions. Your info is helpful.
I think that blood can potentialy transmit diseases other than infectious diseases. Perhaps you can show that blood cannnot transmit disease.

Blood can carry disease. Some blood products do not; some do.
IMHO the most reasonable decision to make is to only take blood when it's necessary to avoid death, disability, or serious illness--and even then to choose the safer alternatives if possible.
Unfortunately the wts has invented an imaginary all-or-nothing mentality, trying to claim that people who are willing to use blood products are enthusiastically seeking out opportunities to use blood, the pious jws avoid it at all costs, and there is no other way to think about it. If any non-jw advocates restraint with blood use, the jws falsely claim this is somehow vindicating their bizarre fundie beliefs. (Check my old posts and you will see when I was a child an adult jw called me a vampire.)
Black and white thinking is a classic indicator of a cult. Sit back and watch how difficult it will be for current jws to make the transition from "no blood at all" to "some fractions are ok". I am willing to bet most will revert to their oversimplified all-or-nothing concept rather than actually use their minds to maneuver the gray areas.
Truth is, most sensible people realize you can and should take blood in certain circumstances, but avoid it when not needed. I am happy to be alive today. I am not happy that I had to take a medication comprised of millions of human blood cells, but it was worth it.

In all my years of nursing, I can say I've seen thousands helped and saved from using blood. To me, the benefits far outweigh the risks!!
I agree.

I can't find anything on Loren Greene's death nor Pope John XXIIIV. You sure you got the number right? Has there been a Pope XXIIIV?

Pope John Paul II
In 1992, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. On 2 April2005 at 9:37 p.m. local time, Pope John Paul II died in the Papal Apartments while a vast crowd kept vigil in Saint Peter's Square below. Millions of people flocked to Rome to pay their respects to the body and for his funeral. The last years of his reign had been marked by his fight against the various diseases ailing him, provoking some concerns that he should abdicate. On May 9, 2005, Pope Benedict XVI, John Paul II's successor, waived the five year waiting period for a cause for beatification to be opened.[
