Here:
The stuff my mom kept giving me would wind up out in the garage developing mildew. Not long ago she came over while we were cleaning out and saw all those JW books headed for the trash. She spent about an hour picking through them to save the "precious" words from Jehovah acting all hurt and appalled that we would have so little respect. "MY PRECIOUS, MY PRECIOUS" went to the trash.

As I sit here I can see around this room alone, six Revelation books, five Greatest Man, five Worship God books three Creation books, and other stuff , untold mags ...

Same here I used to have to get 9 copies of every book for my family. Then a couple more for field service. Then there was the magazines! I must have gone through a rain-forest of them.
As someone has said before - with all these millions of pieces literature which are churned out, over the past 100+ years. Which are supposedly being placed with people.
Just how much does the non-JW know about JW's? Stop a person in the street and ask them. What will they reply? "No blood, knock on doors and maybe no birthdays or Christmas."
Yet the WT tell their members that they are on everyones mind, that priest, pastors, etc are terrified of them. I've never come across a priest or pastor who really knew much about JW's. They were the least of their worries.
One thing that always troubled me about the Witto's was that they are not evironment aware.
Surely all the trees that have to be felled to make the literature is a complete waste and helps to destroy the planet?
Also they don't want you to have the latest low emmissions vehicle because that would be a showy display of ones means of life - no, any old banger spewing out tons and tons of noxious fumes will do, it doesn't matter, Jehover will sort it all out in the new order.
How crass.

Most of mine is in my mums' spare bedroom, waiting for me to dispose of. I threw some away when I first da'd, all the last 3 or 4 years mags and books went in the trash, as they were in my flat, but I had been storing old stuff at my mums for a while as I didn't have room for it all, and didn't get time to sort it out before I moved in with Trev.
That was in January, and I haven't even looked at it since. I think my New Years Resolution will have to be to sort it out.
I believe you will find more disco records, leisure suits and platform shoes in peoples homes than the old blue Truth books- how many of those were printed 300 million? What a waste of good trees- and we need trees.
