Dude, if a civil war didn't break out in the '60s, it sure as hell won't now.

If a war did break out the people would be the losers, people like you and I. But as I have said the Government is not building the detention camps for nothing they are planning unrest. The huge highway that is being built that connects Mexico and Canada by crossing the U.S. this highway is not for average citizens but for the Governments of all three country's to use for their Military and for Commerce of big corporations.

"I am begining to think it is more when, than if now."

Present social conditions would have to worsen considerably to even begin to approach the unrest and violence in the 1960s in response to the Vietnam War. Lyndon Johnson was as thoroughly loathed as Bush, but a civil war was not even a gleam in a neo-nazi's eye. If you think things are bad now, read some American history from the 60s.

No, the American people are not going break out in a civil war....Why? Are you wishing it so?

Depends on how you define "civil war."

The possibility never even entered my mind. The US if far too stable for that to happen.

Regarding the religious right wing group... they are in total disarray and a very large number are pissed at W. Bush because he could not follow through with all of his "religion in government" promises. Sure, he could sit there on TV making all kinds of promises, but all the while he knew the proposals would never pass constitutional tests.

In the end the religious right wing was used by Bush as pawns for the sole purpose of getting elected and they are starting to realize and resent this. Simply put: Bush lied to the Jesus Freaks to get elected.

Bush saw a bunch of SUCKERS willing to bite and he made full use of the opportunity.

Actually, many people believe the first civil war in the US never ended.

Do you mean the War of Northern Agression in the 1860s?

Seriously though, I've found a parallel between the American Civil War and the Iraq war. When Lincoln wsa killed, who was probably the best ally the South could have in the North, because he wanted to heal the nations wounds and accept the South back but instead the South was treated more as the losers of war than welcomed back as lost brothers. Instead of the all the South giving up quietly, an insurrection arose. That's were the KKK and other hate groups like them arose from and continued to fight...they were terrorists, they weren't part of the Confederacy. They took advantage of the chaos and the fog of war to fight their own fight, to push their own agenda.

Today, in the chaos that is Iraq an insurrection has arose and the terrorists fight and push their own agenda of death to the infidels.

There might be war in the US someday but it won't be about anything mentioned so far. The war will be over one resource - water. Wars have been fought over water many times in the past and there is no reason not to believe it won't happen again. I live in a water rich part of the country. One subject that will get people in this region very angry is any mention of diverting Great Lakes water to the parched south and southwest. Differences over politics, religion, gender, and race are quickly forgotten if the topic is broached and common ground is instantly found. I would guess that in water poor parts of the nation people find common ground just as fast. And there you have it. Two large groups with opposing points of view about the allocation of a required resource. Its just a matter of time.
