We have received "new light". The Word is: there is no possible way those who have died in the past could be part of the 144,000. It makes no sense whatsoever for people who have participated in pagan activities that are now condemned by the WTS (such as believing Jesus died on a cross, celebrating holidays, receiving blood transfusions, smoking, etc...) to be considered worthy of being in the presence of Jehovah or in a position of authority.

The "new light" and the reasonable conclusion should be that the 144,000 are going to be picked from the very END times, because they are the ones with the purest beliefs. Only those with the purest beliefs and practices will be considered for heavenly status. Does it make sense that those who had such unpure beliefs would be acceptable to rule with Jehovah? Of course not!

Those previously thought to have been part of the 144,000 are actually just dead and waiting in the grave. They will have to be resurrected and taught along with those who didn't hear and respond to the call of the WTS. Afterall, they don't even know what the latest "new light" is! But won't that be a glorious day, when they finally learn all that they have missed.....blah, blah, blah.....

I've never been a JW, nor do I believe the 144,000 theory, but based on WTS materials I have read in which they "explain away" so much, this seems kind of along the lines of what they would print.

Nothing really gets any brighter, it just tend to smother out the old light and put a different "glow" on things.

Just my opinion.
