Yeah, those damn bleeding hearts! Why can't we get them to be robots already? That's what the WT must be brainstorming about. For the first few years after I left home and was DF'd again, my parents' affection would wax and wane with the proper food at the proper time. After a convention, my dad would point out the property line and tell me to quit calling my mom. After a couple months of no real shake-ups, I would get to come in the house, eat a grapefruit in the same room and get some attention. I'm sure if I was still playing that game, this would be a tough month.

I believe this is the 3rd article in 18 months containing the same info. I have a relative with all 5 kids out and they don't shun them. (Yes they behave normally)....(The kids) .....the parents have been dogged by other relatives quoting these articles and quietly ignore them.
I know the couple in the latest article just cant put a finger on who they are. Also the son in the last picture.
What a bunch of garbage this organization spews out.....like dogs returning to their own vomit.

I have to reply to the article and the posts. It has stirred up many emotions. We are a Christian family, not JWs, who had a rebellious daughter that caused great turmoil and heartache. To protect identity, I will not go into great detail, but the situation was one that would be agonizing for anyone to deal with, Christian or not.
As opposed to the WT's approach, we were encouraged by our elders to maintain a relationship with her: "Love the sinner but not the sin." "She will always be your daughter." "She knows your stance. You have given her principles. Trust that she will one day return so don't despair". "If you want to have any input into her life, you must not cast her off." "Shower her with love. Look for ways to reach out to her. Make sure to include her as much as possible in the family circle." "Continue to trust Jehovah. He loves her even more than you and wants this situation resolved."
Those words were like a balm to a wounded soul! We knew that people were praying for us and for her. They were there to stand beside us and comfort and encourage us. I cannot imagine the additional pain that would be added to the situation by the WT approach.
We found a wonderful Christian counsellor who our daughter agreed to meet with. Her loving, biblical approach helped tremendously. We want to praise the Lord that He has been faithful, through those tear-filled moments. We have had the joy of seeing this situation resolved with great growth and healing, and we give the glory to God for this. HE IS FAITHFUL, even when we are not. She was our "prodigal daughter" but every time we talked, we let her know she could always come home. She has returned and we ran to meet her with open arms.
A religion that does not know God's grace cannot show God's grace. May any who have experienced or are in the midst of this be encouraged by our story.

Thanks. I wonder what an active JW would think if I shared this story? We look on it as a huge answer from the Lord, but of course, they don't think that Jehovah hears our prayers, do they?

Truthsearcher - I would love to see your post here sent to the society and to any witness family facing this trauma.
I firmly believe it is criminal emotional abuse to disfellowship minor children and abuse of power to strongarm jw parents into complying with these dictates of the WTS. It's horrible to break up families like this whether the 'children' are minors or living on their own.
I hope your experience (which I believe to be the most loving and beneficial method) can be share with more JWs especially as this magazine sits in their homes.

I couldn't even read the whole article, it made me so angry. I plan on scanning it though, and distributing it to my local Social Services and Children's Aid Offices, as well as my local churches just so they can see how loving this religion is when they come knocking at their doors.
As for the pigs at Bethel who authorized this latest article on how to tear a family apart in one easy lesson, driving many to the depths of depression and suicide I say:
F*CK YOU!!!

Nice plug for not questioning the elders in the last paragraph. I wonder if too many parents were getting upset at the JC demanding to hear every last detail of their minor daughter's "porneia" before throwing her out? *gag*

Thank you, Truthsearcher.
I tried to correct the spelling of your alias in my last post but too much time has elapsed so cannot edit. (sorry!)
