Do you really believe the numbers? They can alter them any way they like and when people turn in their numbers they can lie. I know I use to make up numbers all the time when I turned them in. Especially towards the last couple of years I was in.

I can't wait to see more negative growth in Europe. I already saw it in Belgium. I would also love to see negative growth in the US, which would pretty much be awesome.

And keep this in mind as well: The "growth" is even worse than presented. In countries where there are large immigrant populations (UK, Germany, Spain, etc.) there is great "success" in preaching to the immigrants.

Much like in the US, where virtually all of the increase comes from the immigrant field, immigrants are desperate for any foothold they can get in their new country. Virtually any group that would aggressively recruit amongst them would have success. Based on what I hear from one country, "all the studies are with the immigrants".

So, amongst the citizens of most European countries, the actual "growth" rate is undoubtedly several negative percentage points (as it almost certainly is amongst English-language US congregations).
