This morning I found out that last night at the service meeting, a letter was read from the Society to a nearby congr. about the danger of the internet.
They warned all the DUBs about being on the internet because many are being influenced fom apostate websites and pornography.
Does anyone else have the details of what was said and read?.

Nope, sorry. But they've been harping on this and reading letters to the congregations about the "dangers of the internet" for 10 years. Obviously the R&F aren't paying any attention to them. I don't have the letter, but I'm sure it's probably in line with past warnings:

They're absolutely right for once! I know I have. ;)
Here, that letter was read at the service meeting about 3 weeks ago (the week before Thanksgiving), according to my sources. The people who heard it here thought it was directed at the kids. That might just be the way the local elder framed it. It was a My Space warning . . . predators and pornography.

Oh wow, this site gets put on the same level as pornography! Maybe if you people kept your clothes on more...

I think they are more worried by the first one, then the second. The first one leads to free thought, independent thinking and the way out. The second one leads to some masterbation, maybe someone cheating, but they might still think the Witnesses are god's religion.

Yes there was a letter read to the congregations about web communities and personal info on the internet.
The letter was targeted at sites like myspace.com but there was no mention of any specific website. This is a definite shift from recent assembly and convention talks that have demonised myspace, but without specifying why such sites are dangerous.
The letter was very detailed about the dangers of child predators and had the substance of the TV Dateline "To Catch a Predator" shows. It even warned of mobile phone web access.
I have to admit this was a balanced and informative letter without the haranging and paranoia of the earier "NO MYSPACE!" rants. There was little mention of apostate issues, the letter was focused on sexual predators and the dangers of having personal info for all to see on the web.
