I am very new to these forums and I need a little help with the acronyms.
GB? Governing body?
GUBA?
I have been away for over twenty years so I am a bit out of the loop on thier lingo.
Apostate. I have always gotten a chuckle out of that word. How do you know if you are one? Do you go get apostate exam to find out? Does it hurt? Does insurance cover it? Inquiring minds want to know!

About 3 weeks ago we had a km locals needs part, "Parents, do you know what your kids are doing on the internet". The Elder doing the part made mention to a site (www.bebo.com), he even said that he has found some members of our cong on there. Needless to say it was a good advert to the site, I wouldn't have been the only one that went home that night and checked it out.
Yes read two weeks ago, Internet, chat rooms, pornography, apostate sites. This time they mentioned that it is not just a PC or even a laptop we should worry about but because of wireless technology and palm pilots, mobile phones etc, we can be in a priavte place (even rest rooms) and get internet access.
While I would like to think that the GB is actually concerned about young ones getting unintentionally involved with sexual predetors on the internet, I believe their main concern is having the R&F stumble on "apostate" web sites and finding out the truth about the Truth. If they were truly concerned about keeping your children safe from pornography and potential child molestors, well......what's that saying? Charity begins at home.........
