Insight on the Scriptures volume 2 page paragraphs 6 &7 under: mediator

Holding the offices of Mediator and High Priest,Jesus Christ, being immortal, is always alive and able TO PLEAD FOR THOSE OF SPIRITUAL ISRAEL approaching God through him, so he MEDIATE THE NEW COVEMENT UNTIL THOSE PERSONS RECIEVING HIS MEDIATORIAL ASSISTANCE ARE SAVED COMPLETELY (Heb. 7:24,25) He is able to conduct matters to the successful completion of the new convenant. THOSE IN THE NEW COVENANT ARE EVENTUALLY INSTALLED IN THE HEAVENLY PRIESTHOOD AS UNDERPRIESTS WITH CHRIST THEIR HIGH PRIEST.-Re.5:9,10; 20:6

Blessings To Mankind in General:WHILE JESUS' MEDIATORSHIP OPERATES SOLELY TOWARD THOSE IN THE NEW COVENANT, HE IS ALSO GOD'S HIGH PREIST AND THE SEED OF ABRAHAM, In fullfilling his duties in these latter two positions, he will bring blessings to others of mankind, for all the nations are to be blessed by means of Abraham's seed. Those in the new covenant are the first blessed by Christ, the primary seed.( Ga.3:16,29), being brought in as associate members of the seed....

I asked a similar question a few years back, on a slightly wider range of associated issues:

IMO the little gray book Worldwide Security Under the "Prince of Peace" put it in the easiest terms to refute.

It stated that Moses was not the mediator for mankind in general, but that means that he was not the mediator for proselytes (Gentiles who chose to become Jews)—which does not agree with the Bible. In fact, that would mean that Jesus was born through a lineage including at least two ancestresses that were not in a mediated relationship with God: Ruth and Rahab.

Moses was the mediator for mankind in general, for any who chose to enter into that mediated relationship. Jesus is the mediator for mankind in general, for any who choose to enter into that mediated relationship.

    According to the Bible, anyway.

    Respectfully,

    Hello;

Mary, thanks for that info. One question; You said "Then again, they also unofficially teach that the NT was only written for the "annointed", not for the "Great Crowd". Of course, there is absolutely no scriptural evidence for this insane teaching, but that's never stopped them before."

Can you elaborate on that statement? Thank you. Please use Watchterror related quotes if possible.

If I were into conspiracy theories I say this is the basis for a good one.

First, Jehovah's Witness doctrine prevents the majority of its members from sharing in Jesus' commanded Lord's Evening Meal. Then, they remove the majority of JW's from having Jesus as a mediator.

Add to that the 1985 change of the second baptismal question, removing "holy spirit' and adding "spirit directed organization".

Great basis for a conspiracy theory.

I agree with the others who appreciate Mary's research...could not help but crack up on this little gem that she found -

Clearly, then, the new covenant is not a loose arrangement open to all mankind. It is a carefully arranged legal provision involving God and anointed Christians.

Great...to paraphrase that Star Trek where Spock and his brother were searching for God: Their God-creature soon enough tried to steal the Enterprise. Naturally, this made Captain Kirk a little defensive. He questioned "Why does God need a Starship?"

Good question, Captain. And I say - why does God need a carefully crafted legal provision? So that he won't get burned in the divorce like Kevin Federline?

Of course, I guess God can afford any lawyer he would choose to hire - (maybe old Hayden Covington?) Then he could bring his case before the Judge - with Charles Taze R. as the court recorder, and Freddy as court appointed counsel for the apostates???

    See http://jwfacts.com/index_files/mediator.htm

It lists quotes from a number of articles, shows why it is wrong, and explains why the WTS had to bring the teaching in.

    Mary posted this quote:

    *** w79 11/15 p. 26 Benefiting from "One Mediator Between God and Men" ***

So Jesus Christ in heaven is the Mediator between God and the
spiritual Israelites, while these are still in the flesh as men and
    women........
What, then, is Christ’s role in this program
of salvation? Paul proceeds to say: " There is one God,
and one mediator between God and men
    [not, all men],
a man Christ Jesus, who gave himself a corresponding
    ransom for all."—1 Tim. 2:5, 6.

    Interesting that they ignore John's warning- (Revelation 22:18) "I am bearing witness to everyone that hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone makes an addition to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this scroll;

It may be okay to put little clarifiers in the WT to explain a scripture, but they are placing their doctrine within the words of Paul to change what he said. A bit more of what they did is in the next paragraph.

    *** w7911/15p.26pars.20-21Benefitingfrom"OneMediatorBetweenGodandMen"***

    20

What, then, is Christ’s role in this program of salvation? Paul proceeds to say: "There is one God,
and one mediator between God and men [not, all men], a man Christ Jesus, who gave himself a
    corresponding ransom for all."—1 Tim. 2:5, 6.

    21

Paul was writing according to the facts of the first century of Christianity, during which the new
covenant had been put into operation.

So now they spin their doctrine INTO the Bible, saying that Paul wrote, not that God inspired Paul to write.
That is the reason why Paul said "men" when GOD WTS clearly would have wrote "not all men" or
    "anointed men and women."

This further indicates the folly of WTS doctrine. If ALL men (and women) who became Christians when
Paul wrote those words were invited to be part of this covenant, then why are there less than 144,000 of these
early Christians? I never thought about this until I read it on JWD, but it is crystal clear now.

Auld soul Moses was the mediator for mankind in general, for any who chose to enter into that mediated relationship. Jesus is the mediator for mankind in general, for any who choose to enter into that mediated relationship. According to the Bible, anyway. Good point ,the "mixed "company that left Egypt was inclusive of Egyptians too not just Hebrews, they partook of Moses leadership and were blessed the same when going to the promised land
