Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is very beneficial if you are unable to work through the bad emotions. It is an medically approved system to help rewire your brain, where you write down the situation that made you upset, how it made you feel, and positive ways you could looking at it.
ie.
SITUATION
My parents are not speaking to me because of the cult
AUTOMATIC THOUGHT
I am so angry and depressed
REALISTIC THOUGHT
I have done all I can to help them know it is a cult
It is their life, it is not my job to change them
I am so glad to be free
I am alive and grateful for it
If you work through negative thoughts like that you will find it rapidly improves your outlook, relieve anxiety and depression, hence reduce anger and increase happiness.
