Technically, no I don't celebrate Xmas. No tree, no lights, no decorations, no card sending, no gift buying. I don't consider myself a Christian so the holiday has no spiritual significance.
I do like the holiday spirit and I enjoy going to Xmas parties and if someone gives me a gift I accept it and thank them profusely and apologize for not reciprocating. I like listening to some Xmas music and watching Xmas movies. A Christmas Story and It's a Wonderul Life are two of my favorite holiday movies that I never get tired of. I say Merry Christmas in return to whoever says it to me instead of trying to lecture them on why Christmas is not Christian, as I was taught to do as a child.
I even like going to the shopping mall or the downtown shopping areas and strolling about while people are shopping and carolers are singing and children are sitting on Santa's lap. It is a neat experience. It's like walking around in a Christmas movie.
Growing up as a JW we basically removed ourselves from society between Thanksgiving and New Years. Never went shopping, out to eat or to visit non-JW relatives. We were in lockdown, so as to not be contaminated by the evil holiday spirit. Now, even though I don't celebrate as most people consider celebrating, I do enjoy the season and allow myself to have the holiday spirit even though I don't go in for decorating or spending lots of money on gifts.
