    Dear Avid,

This kind of technology was not available in the 70's. How I wish I could have recorded the statements made to me as a young girl.....I was alone against 5 men, with statements made by someone 6 years older than me most of which were lies. The lead man was also 6 years older than me wanting me out!....I was dead in the water before I even started.

I could have sued their hind ends off in this day and age.

Thanks for the great post and the vision to record this crap.

Oh I would have had a lot of fun with the question "Do you believe what the FDS says?" I would have asked, "well, are they inspired or not?" Because if they are not inspired by God, maybe we should ALL be questioning what they say.

After listening to the tape I will admit that you didn't sound very sincere to me. You sounded as if you were too prepared and too callous to be helped.

Those that have seen through "the truth" would be hard pressed to sound any other way. And I would imagine that it is very hard to have any type of genuine conversation with three "Gas-Pumpers."

With the technology, how can the elders keep judicial meetings from being recorded? A challenge in deed. If the elder knew as he stated that the meeting was being recorded, then he errred in going though with it. If he knew, then he allowed the recording

I understand Wasanelder, but I'm with Shaolu. I'll do the same thing, because I DON'T TRUST ELDERS! My little experience among JWs and elders shows me that elders may do ANYTHING to protect WTBTS... even lie and others crimes. Specially when elders met with sisters. What are they do??? So I have to do something, and a simple recorder give me a bit of protection. I have a friend and she was another elders' victim. An elder wanted to df'd her based in lies. No record was did. Another elder was contacted to us to said all related things by the elder. If we have this minimal evidence, we'll go to police and make that elder tell ALL LIES that "brothers" tell him and sue him! But no factual evidence. Just stories from my friend. I believed her not because she's my friend, but because I known her very well for decades. She tell me that in the middle of the chat, the elder say: "it's a poker's game". So, I remember that ABBA lyrics: "But I was a fool, playing by the rules". And it happens when we play by the rules with this kind of elders: we loose ever. I grant Shaolu, because he played with elders by using the their rules. a JW friend tells me: "outlaw has of being treated as outlaw". And until if it proves the opposite, these elders didn't pass of outlaws for me.

They always give me the creeps, I couldn't listen to it but the transcript was intense. Thanks so much for the reminder; why I'd never consider that my bobs would give me a fair hearing.

Hope you're okay... and welcome to the board!

shaolu, that was a very excellent recording! I don't have a JW background, so to hear elders actually praying all the WT phrases was a bit astounding:

Joseph: *cough* Jehovah God, we come before you now to give thanks for allowing us to... be part of your organization. To... use the bible and uh... adjust our thinking. And to help our... our members... in doing the same thing. So that... uh... we can all reach the same goal. We ask that you would be with us now to have a... mild spirit. And to be able to... uh... speak freely. I'd like to give this prayer to you now in Jesus Christ's name.

    What a crazy prayer!!!!!!!!

And what craziness, to try to skewer you with "Do you believe in the trinity?" Hello?? How is that relevant at this meeting?

This was obviously a witch hunt and kangaroo court. The whole recording was amazing, that following God or desiring to follow truth was never once an issue--just whether you had blind faith in an organization!

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. This recording was a very good picture to me. I hope you can find even more exposure online for it.

I found this section completely chilling.

John: What's gonna happen to him and everyone he knows?

Russell: You know the best thing you can do for yourself, John? Separate yourself from him. Get yourself from him. Never speak to him again from this moment forward. And that'll be the best thing you can do for yourself. If you love God—If you love God—not us, not him, not even yourself. If you love God...

Jonathan: If you love God, you will want the Truth.

Russell:Never speak—never speak to this man again. Come back to this holy place, strip yourself of your pride and let him affect your heart. And you will see things differently. Don't have to come to this hally(?) place.

    Jonathan: Uh huh.

Russell: Go to another Kingdom Hall, but do not speak to him... ever again, and you will be on the road to life. That will start you down that road.

    [Indecipherable commotion]

John: I don't have any hatred in my heart. (?)

Russell: We don't have any hatred for you.

John: How am I supposed to start down that road?

    [Commotion]

Jonathan: No, actually according to the Watchtower you're supposed to hate apostates. So...

Russell: We don't have any hatred

    New Guy: [Indecipherable]

Russell: None whatsoever. We are sorry for you.

Jonathan: Might as well be, because you can prejudge him. So...

    [More indecipherable commotion]

Russell: You know what? In a god-like form, I absolutely do hate him, just as Jehovah does. He's insulted our god... in God's house! How else should we act?

    Utterly. Chilling.

    [Watchtower, October 1, 1952 pps. 596 to 604]

“Haters of God and His people [Jehovah's Witnesses] are to be hated, but this does not mean that we will take any opportunity of bringing physical hurt to them in a spirit of malice or spite, for both malice and spite belong to the Devil, whereas pure hatred

does not. We must hate in the truest sense, which is to regard with extreme and active aversion, to consider as loathsome, odious, filthy, to detest. Surely any haters of God are not fit to live on His beautiful earth. The earth will be rid of the wicked and we shall not need to lift a finger to cause physical harm to come to them, for God will attend to that, but we must have a proper perspective of these enemies. His name signifies recompense to His enemies.”
