I've been doing this for years and yes its of immense help for sinus problems. It is kind of gross, but when you have so much pain and drainage you're almost willing to try anything. I've had several doctors recommend it, so its not quackery.

I got a neti pot a little over a year ago. What a great thing. Solved alot of my sinus problems. Even comes in handy when you congested with a cold.

I can vouch for it also. I developed a sinus infection that lasted over a year; I eventually had sinus surgery. I had to perform nasal lavage two to three times daily after surgery. My doctor recommended adding a little baking soda as a buffer.

My outcome is even better than I expected; now I get one, sometimes two sinus infections a year, which clear up easily with antibiotics.

Adding a salt buffer increases the osmotic pressure so the water is slightly heavier (saltier) then our cell water is. This produces a pulling effect on the cells that line our sinuses. It will then have drawing out and flushing action.

Using pure water the cells will tend to pull the water in since they have a salt content. You will get flushing but it would not be as effective.

I prefer the misting technique because the nedi pot too closely resembles a feeling very similar to drowning.

I get sinus infections and my doctor set me up with a Water Pix and a special adapter that fits the nasal passage. It works great. Oh, I use Kosher salt in my mix.

Well, Glad it worked for you!

Mayb I should try it. My sinuses aren't that bad but they aren't that great either. And I have a friend who has sinus problems too. I think I'll try it.

And my sinus problem might get worse! :-(

OVER 4 years ago, I had a root canal done. After I had it done, I used to get pain in my tooth and gum. I didn't know what it was. The tooth was supposed to be dead. So, I went to 3 different dentists over the course of 3 years and they never found anything - but that's bcz they only took x-rays of the tooth.

About two weeks ago, I went to NYU ER bcz my tooth was pulsating and I explained to them how it's been hurting for yrs, etc. So they took an x-ray of the tooth and the nerves above the tooth. So yeah, I had an infection that had been there for over 4 years. They told me that either the first root canal was done wrong or when it was done, the dentist didn't clear all the infected area of the tooth.

So now I have to have it re-done and the whole procedure will cost over $1000 - and I paid $90 for ER fee bcz NYU didn't accept my insurance. AND if after re-doing the root canal, the infection does'nt go away or if they find that the infection has moved to my sinus, they will have to do surgery on my gum. It freaking scares the hell out of me! And I don't have any money to pay for it. So they told me to go to the clinic where I had it done and talk to them bcz they have the responsibility to re-do it for free and cover any charges but that if they don't, then I'll have to bring in my lawyer. My mother talked to her lawyer and the lawyer said that my mom and I should go back to the clinic where I had it done and explain to them and if they refuse to re-do it or cover the charges if I choose to do it at another clinic/hospital, then my lawyer said she'll call them and we might have to sue them. Either way I'm screwed. I'm SCARED of dentists. 4 years I went without having any cavities and took good care of my teeth bcz I didn't want any needles in my mouth and they tell me this crap now that I need to have it redone. ugh!

If it comes to worse, I will sue the bastards for all the pain the infection caused me and the pain the second root canal will cause. plus, the surgery that I may need to have done if the infection moved to my sinus or my cheek bone. I fucking hate those bastards!

    justahuman - but super nonetheless

I will give this thing a try, so I mixed it up and did the treatment, blood clots and pink then red water started coming out of my nose, and after I noticed my headache was gone, I could breath great, and felt a lot less pressure in my head. This thing is pretty awesome!

How do you keep from drowning yourself?

There isn't enough water to actually drown, it will just feel like that in your sinuses. But I am willing to bet that most people will say the relief far out weighs the temp. discomfort.

Since I posted this, I have been using mine, twice a day, I have to tell all of you I normally take at least 2 weeks or more to start feeling better when I have a sinus attack, I still feel great, I have been calling all my friends to tell them about this, I think Sinucleanse people need to start paying me to market this ha ha ha

As well, try using Oil of Oregano to control any further outbreaks. My brother has suffered with sinus problems for years, until he began using oil of oregano. Now, he rairly has an episode.
