Looking for information from society that states a nurse, etc., is bound by scripture to turn in members who break Jehovah's laws. Thanks a bunch. Cindy

Ive never seen anything specific to nurse's. It all has to do that if you find out someone has committed a wrongdoing, you are suppose to go to the elders.
Has something happened??
Check this out about this topic, from the employers view:

No, nothing has happened. I am a nurse, a faded JW, but I remember something about an article, don't know where, that stated our loyalties to Jah and keeping the org clean come above patient confidentiality, and it would be our duty to report members to elders who seek medical care contrary to the scriptures, according to them. I just went crazy and got rid of everything. I kept all the books, etc, for years, then one day I just threw it all in the trash. Suitcases full. Now I wish I had kept them for reference.

Who is going to pay for your legal defense and/or any fines you will get for a HIPA violation? How do you pay attornies when your license is suspended? What facility will ever hire you with a HIPA violation on your record? What if the parties decide to sue you in civil court? What if you lose your nursing license?

My daughter's ex, JW hubby, is suing her for full custody of their children. One of the kids came through the kitchen, and stated, "I am telling my Dad on you." Nothing was going on, just sitting there. Explained to him that what we do is our business. "No, my Dad said I should tell him EVERYTHING that happens at my Moms house." Anyway, I am trying to make a comparison, with my job as a nurse, how JW's demand complete loyalty, in all areas of life, NO MATTER WHAT. I would never turn anyone in. I wish I had never heard of Jehovah's Witnesse.

I wrote this essay for my ethics class in nursing school on the topic of JW health care professionals and confidentiality issues.
