JW literature tries to persuade us that the star was actually sent by Satan to guide the evil magi to the site of Jesus and his family. Yet, the Bible tells us in Genesis that God was the creator of all the stars in the heavens. Nowhere that I am familiar with does the Bible state that Satan made any of the stars or any other celestial object. The magi undoubtedly went to Herod in Jerusalem looking for the newborn king because they assumed that was the place to find royalty, and it was where the star had stood. I think God was using them to prepare Herod and the rest of the world for a new "kid on the block". Any comments? Praise

Hi, This is Sirona posting under Diamondblue's login.
An interesting link here http://www.disf.org/en/Voci/35.asp
Of more interest regarding the Star which announced Jesus birth is here:
SironaLike Jesus, Horus' birth was announced by a star in the east and he was allegedly attended by three wise men.

"Osiris’s coming was announced by Three Wise Men: the three stars Mintaka, Anilam, and Alnitak in the belt of Orion, which point directly to Osiris’s star in the east, Sirius (Sothis), significator of his birth." -

I was 'taught' the magi were really astrologers, that the 'star' moved. It went to Herod, then Bethlehem and the trek took about 2 years.

Remember what the magi brought with them?

How did Joseph and Mary finance their trip to and from Egypt?
How did they manage to have enough funds to live in a country where Jews would not be allowed to work or own property because of the events surrounding Israel's departure during Moses' time?

Thanks for the info Sirona. It was interesting reading. I guess my greatest concern with the WTS stance is that they will claim the Bible is the authority (which I myself believe) but then they twist and turn and make assumptions based on what....? And they present it as fact. I am not finding anywhere in the Bible (their authority) where anyone but God made a star. Do any of you?

The star was actually a flying saucer. The aliens were making sure their artificial insemenation project on the human race went as planned.

Leave it to the Watchtower to turn the star of Bethlem, one of the most celebrated and peaceful symbols in history, into a satanic icon of "pagan" gods. They just want any excuse possible to make everyone's lives as miserable as their own.

To believe Satan created the Star is to say Satan is more powerful than the Almighty God. JWs would have us believe that Satan wanted the baby Jesus killed so he made the Star. Now either that would make God less powerful than Satan or that God could care less if an attempt to take Jesus' life so soon was okay with Him.
