Lol, only my nickname is Greek.

Mythology implies constant intercultural borrowing. Mithra comes from Persia. Some of the Greek orphic myths may well have borrowed from Levantine (Canaanite/Phoenician/Israelite) mythology too, cf. http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/10/68224/1.ashx.

Along with awareness of intercultural influences the realisation may come that the quest for any "true origin" is not the least of myths. Which in turns makes every myth, including the latter one, interesting on its own merits.

Guess what kid, we reconciled that already. It is no longer an issue. It was only a misunderstanding. If you continued to read, Im assuming you can do that. You would know that not only did I apologize I complimented him and put forth an olive branch for future conversation and mutual sharing of knowledge. Yesterday was my first time on this board and the first thing you said was I don't buy it! Who the hell do you think you are? You are a provocative person. Basically calling me a liar. I know you don't like me , but guess what I don't like you either. If you try reading my posts you will see i'm an intellect and I will not waste my time indulging you. Besides I don't find one liners very stimulating. Brother ho shot.

I was wondering one night, what in fact, tartarus might be.

The original greek word for tartarus is Detroit.

Thank you for the links narkisos, I'm stunned and truly humbled by the knowledge on this board. Does Leolaia have a doctorate in history, holy crap. How can he remember all that. Even yourself, I don't think i'm in your league, I never knew these things. If only I could get it to stay in my head. Never encountered such intelligence.
