Doesn't the CO usually make his visits with a local elder? Maybe no elder was out in supporting him.
I looked through the blinds at the car parked out front and didn't see anyone else inside, so I ASSume that it was just the two of them. The guy he was going around with is a Bethel reject whose father is a PO in another congo here, but like I said he's doing a circuit as well. It really doesn't matter because they will need both as witnesses to boot me out. Not really because they can boot whoever they feel like, but to adhere to their own rules they will need two witnesses. I plan on shaking the COs hand at the next assembly, I've discovered long ago that all they really see is the uniform and the rest are just too scared to speak out for fear of making a mistake. Like any other bully they only want easy prey.

Great story. It is wierd that the local elders did not send someone with them. Usually they would travel in a group of 4, with 2 local brothers. I suppose if you did meet the guy in 6 mos., you could just say, "No, that wasn't me, never met you. But that is my address. Are you sure you had the right street?"

That's awesome, Amos! Looks like the Borg Boys got pwned that day.
Every so often at my job, a witness brings in his car (I can tell by the car tapes; one pickup had a stack of Watchtowers inside). I would LOVE to get them to talk about the blood issue, or something else. I'd love to pretend to just be a regular guy who has a question, and see how much they clam up.

***cough*** <wink> I am certain you thought they were either trying to serve you with papers relating to a court case or there has also been a rash of thefts in the neighborhood and everyone is being very cautious.
After all for two strange men to approach your door univited nor announced, they had no right to know who you were.
heh heh heh

Uzzah is right. You don't have to be 'home' to anyone you don't want to be there for. If you have household help, have them answer very formally and say mr is not at home. May I take your card? And act huffy. Ok, my personal fantasy is revealed. I was the help once, and I couldn't act huffy to save my life. But you have no obligation to ID yourself to two strangers on your doorstep. What would ever give anyone that impression-that you owed any time or consideration to people knocking on your door unannounced, unwelcome and unidentified? Geez. Nervy of them.
