If an individual JW reads the Bible and determines that a certain teaching held by the GB is in error and vocalizes his findings, he is an apostate.
If the GB determines that a change is needed in doctrine, thus making the old doctrince in error, then the change to the new doctrine is either "new light" or they are "bringing a spirit of wisdom" to the matter.
Jehovah's Witnesses call themselves "The Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses" but almost all of their beliefs are geared toward Jehovah-------never hardly Jesus Christ! The are really a Jewish offshoot religion, As Christ is not even their (millions) mediator!

The rank and file must confess any "gross" wrongdoing. But, if an elder or ms commits the same deed, as long as he dosen't report it for a couple of years and keeps his nose clean, he won't face a jc if it comes up at a later time. If you read between the lines on this one in the elders handbook, it actually encourages elders NOT to report such wrongdoing.

The Society says the ressurected anointed in the heavens tell the Governing Body "new light". If a rank and file member or even an anointed one made that same claim, they'd be df'd for "practice of spiritism".

Here's something that most JWs don't even know...or bothered to ever know: The "Christian Congregation" is made up only of the 144,000. The rest of the JWs who aren't of the anointed are only "companions" to the true "Christians".
Speaking of your double standards...most JWs aren't even "Christians" as defined by the Governing Body of the "Christian Congregation of Jehovahs' Witnesses".
So true Undercover.......Another double standard: No one should judge their brother. Elders routinely judge by tribunals. JWs aren't supposed to gossip but elders can all the time because......they're elders!
You will be DF'd for any percieved wrongdoing, unless you are an elders child, than you will get A GREAT BIG hug and encouragement to get back on the right track.
