I like Grover off of Sesame Street when he did his demonstration of near and far. One of my friends does a very good Grover impression and if he has a little to drink will do the Grover near and far demonstration, live of course .

I think that Grover's efforts to explain the difference between 'near' and 'far' comes very close to the feel of the frustration I have experienced in trying to explain the difference to my own family.
