    Who are Christ's Brothers?

The Society has made the claim that only those of the 144,000 are Christ's brothers and that by doing good to "them", others would be judged as fit for life. Who really is Christ's Brothers according to the words of Jesus himself? Matt Ch 25

Luke 8:19-21 19 Now his mother and brothers came toward him, but they were unable to get to him because of the crowd. 20 However, it was reported to him: “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside wanting to see you.” 21 In reply he said to them: “My mother and my brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.”

According the Bible is there more than 144,000? Is it more the the FD Slave class according the words of Jesus who has last say?

I find this very interesting, because many years after getting baptized, I heard at the hall, that we weren't Jesus's brothers. Just like the verse you stated, all those who do God's will are brothers. So, we should have heavenly brothers as well as earthly brothers, who are ONE.

JH, that is what I was thinking, our choices are as follows

    Believe the Bible?

    Believe Man Made teachings?

    I agree with your comments.

In mt25, jesus calls the homeless, raggeddy dressed, and prisoners his brothers. Prisoners are/were criminals; murderers, thieves, rapists, etc. Yet, jesus said that the least of them were his brothers (anointed, going to heaven). Bet yall don't believe jesus, when he said that.

Since about 1935, the WTS has taught that only the anointed are Christ's brothers through "adoption." Those living on earth will not become "family" members until the end of the 1,000-Year Reign of Christ after the pass the "final test."

** km 3/93 p. 1 par. 7 Celebrating the Death That Gives Hope of Everlasting Life ***

Only a few of Christ’s brothers remain on earth today, and in the not-too-distant future, the celebration of the Lord’s Evening Meal will have come to its completion.

    *** w90 5/15 p. 9 When Christ Arrives in Kingdom Power ***"

Truly I say to you," the King replies, "to the extent that you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me." Christ’s brothers are the remaining ones on earth of the 144,000 who will rule with him in heaven.

    *** w96 7/15 p. 10 par. 2 Jehovah’s Family Enjoys Precious Unity ***

Faithful anointed ones on earth are now part of God’s universal family, and Jesus’ "other sheep," with earthly hopes, are its prospective members.

    *** w72 8/15 p. 498 Questions That Disturb You—What Should You Do? ***

But the principle set out in this text may also be applied to the "other sheep," who are prospective children of God, with hope of everlasting life on earth.

    *** w62 6/1 p. 352 Questions From Readers ***

The faithful members of the anointed remnant on earth are included among the members of the family of God, and the "other sheep" of today are prospective members of that family

Thanks Blondie for the quotes, it completely amazes me.

Christ says one thing and no one pays attention

Men write something and millions (around 6 mil) just go along with it like a nose ring in their nose.

Doesn't sound any different than when Jesus was talking to the crowds John 8:31 31 And so Jesus went on to say to the Jews that had believed him: “If YOU remain in my word, YOU are really my disciples,

vss 36 36 Therefore if the Son sets YOU free, YOU will be actually free.

vss 42,43 42 Jesus said to them: “If God were YOUR Father, YOU would love me, for from God I came forth and am here. Neither have I come of my own initiative at all, but that One sent me forth. 43 Why is it YOU do not know what I am speaking? Because YOU cannot listen to my word

I am not a betting man, but I am going with Christ again. I seek His approval not men. Thanks again Blondie for showing the silliness of man made writings.

I find it interesting that this text lends itself, perhaps undecidably, to both a broad interpretation (as Satanus pointed out) and a narrower one (the "brothers of Christ" = the lowly and persecuted early Jewish-Christian missionaries). Cf. http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/104861/1.ashx

Yes 'Blondie' pointed out the WBTS explanation for this, but to me this seems to rather stretch the meaning of the word 'Brother' a bit. Much to their own convenience of course.

In order to keep continuity to their limited 144,000 going to heaven they promote these ideas.

Also, how did you feel when you learned from the WTB&TS that Jesus is the Mediator only for that class? They certainly are self assuming.

When I think of how only the 144,000 have Jesus as a mediator, it literally makes me sick, not for myself, but the arrogance and that only by companionship with 144,000 does anyone else even have a chance at being a friend of God and life. I am sick for Christ by downplaying His role in behalf of Mankind as the Bible says he is. Everything revolves around the Christ, when I think of that; the scripture comes to mind about the "man of lawlessness" setting himself in the seat of God. This is a serious sin. Again going beyond the things written.
