I have lots of family still in, so I like to look at the BS they're being fed in case anything comes up.

I ditto that comment. Gotta know what they are teaching my peeps. I don't read it cover to cover.
I truly get most of my WT study from Blondie.

The first time i came out was when the Proclaimers book came out and after that refused to read any of their shite, but curiosity overcame me and I wanted to read the odd W//T study article, and about 3/4 times I have contacted the Branch Office for a local dub to post a W/T through my letterbox this request was never met, for obvious reasons, but now i just read the snippets of new Jw stuff here, I would not read anything now from the WTS if you paid me

I am an Apostate and am proud of it...

The apostate is defined as a person who, at one time, fully accepted the dogma and tenets of the particular system, who participated in its rituals, and who defended it from the attacks of unbelievers. However, the apostate at some point reached the conclusion that the system was intellectually bankrupt, and defected from the faith, either for another tradition, or for a system of freethought.

Thus, the apostate cannot exist in the worldview of the believer. There is no place in their psychological makeup for someone who was fully appraised of all the dogma of the tradition, who accepted all its pronouncements implicitly, and yet who later rejected the system. The very existence of such a person poses a threat to the careful mental balancing act in which act believers are engaged.

I just love this description of an Apostate.

So if an individual such as myself has left the WTS teachings and have entered an new religion/ church, or now believes (I am an Anglican) I have committed there JW'sso-called altimate no no. Also if you publish or speak out any anti JW information you are an apostate, If you telll others you no longer are a JW you are an apostate. If you question the foundation of their faith you are on the verge of becoming Apostate.

I read any religious and scientific, historical literature of all kinds. I have an open mind no longer oppressed by th e G>B> I can get a WT or any publication from my ex husband. But t hose magizines I recieve are generally ones that are spoken of here in the forum.

If I'm out of toilet paper and in a bind I might get a flash of the cover before I put it to good use.

Perhaps I am a WT junkie - I always want to know what they are up to. Of course I read it with a different view than I did before , but I want to read it.

Dude, be careful the ink might rub off and you end up with a Watchtower logo on your butt.

Not an "apostate" here, just an "opposer".

When I first started, I analysed the writing for deceptiveness and manipulative language. I think I've got it figured now.

These days, I primarily study to assist my JW husband.
