I can't believe I forgot this one: a friend of my daughter's was df'd after she was raped. They said she was in the wrong place at the wrong time and had already been counseled about drinking and bad asociations, so she was asking for it. She was 16 and her parents were in the midst of a nasty divorce. Where is the love???
What have been the strangest "Grounds for DFing?

This is a true story. The Elder's called me and asked me if I would disassociate myself. I said No, so they said they would do it for me the next Thursday meeting. I asked them what my sin was, and they said, Lack of meeting attendance. I asked if that was going to apply to all who were missing meeting and they said No, just you!
I told them, Thank God, I thought it was going to be for something serious!

I remember a young gal getting DF'd for lying to Mr. Pigfaced "elder". I was so flumoxed by the announcement it prompted me to look inside the unlocked file cabinet and open the letter "Pigface" sent to Watchtower Headquarters. It read, reason for disfellowshipping, lying.
I hope Pigface burns in hell.

I friend of ours was disfellowshipped for arguing with his mother. He was @ 20 years old and they were in a heated argument over something stupid (like only a mother and 20 year old can be), they were on the stairs. He was trying to get up the stairs away from her and she reached for him - he probably knocked her hand away (although he denies doing this) - anyway she told the brothers that he hit her and they disfellowshipped him for it.
That was around 26 years ago and he still doesn't talk to her to this day.

I know someone who is bi-polar. A very psychologically delicate man. His family (parents, siblings) treat him almost childlike, for fear of upsetting him. He is very nice, but emotionally unstable. Anyway, he was in one of the low moods and feeling suicidal. He parked his car on the railroad tracks but was somehow spared when the train hit. He was disfellowshipped for attempting suicide. No one to come help him. No one to validate his being here. Everyone turned their backs on him except his parents. Thankfully, they could see his need and help him. He is on medication and is reinstated.
It broke my heart when his sister told me. Can you imagine being so worried about your brother and his mental and physical health, yet scared God would kill you for trying to help someone feel God's love? Such a twisted religion.
