Daughter wants JW grandpa (shunning us) to help her get a car . . .

    Greetings Madame Quixote,

It's the same old same ole. Kids today are used to having things handed to them. I've bought two different automobiles outright, for two of my sons. The result.... total neglect and UNappreciated. They ran the damn things into the ground. I'd never buy for them again (BIG MISTAKE), or co-sign a loan for them ever.

As far as your daughter getting a loan from your witness parents. That will be a challenge. You know what dubs think about anyone who doesn't dress the same way, or think like them. "She doesn't go to meetings, why should we do anything for her" mentality.

My advice is for her to go to a bank. If at 1st she doesn't succeed in qualifying for a loan. Then she should continue to try. Banks are in the business of lending money. Or as has already been posted, for her to apply at one of the cardealerships and perhaps they can help. They need every sale they can get their hands on!

Thanks, y'all. I just started working on college apps for her and on getting her lined up to take the SATs, after sitting up all night last night, crying because she casually told me she's going to move to Tennessee after she graduates to live with her boyfriend and some of his boyfriends. I didn't have a shitfit or anything, but was absolutely despondent when that piece of shit for news started sinking in an hour or two later at bedtime . . .

Now, I do want her to live her life and be happy, and I do like her boyfriend . . . BUT, one needs a few things before one moves out of state . . . like a job, some money, a car, and hopefully, an education, etc.

I looked up the place she said she wants to go - Kingsport, TN: No in-state tuition, needles to say, no public transit, no colleges in the town, except 2 beauty schools. There are other schools nearby,(UT & ETSU), but no public transit to get there . . . this kid's not thinking about anything but being with her boyfriend, playing video games and talking online.

If she keeps dropping all this off-hand shit on me, I'm going to have a little breakdown; I missed work today because of her nonsense upsetting me so badly last night; but, I spent my time well, researching her silly ideas and took her and her boyfriend out to dinner tonight. We talked a bit about their situation and other options for daughter and him.

I also sent a nice long email with links to the different websites and got a couple of online college apps done, one locally and one at the other end ot the state, close to where her boyfriend's talking about moving to.

Hopefully, they will do something sensible with all my hard work and headache. Gawd. Now I don't even want to think about the car thing! LOL
