Ask her how many hoops does Jesus want people to jump through on the way to Paradise.

If they are just imperfect men, then why listen to them? Why follow them?
Do not put your trust in nobles, nor in the son of earthling man to whom no salvation belongs. ~ Psalm 146:3

Quote WAC
"This is the excuse she gives: "They (org) are imperfect. You should fogive them."
We are inperfect people to, but dose the WTBT fogive us for questioning them? Or do thay DF us and shun us??? -

My argument [so far unsuccessful with diehard missus] Is as follows.
Apostle Peter was imperfect, denied Christ, discriminated against gentiles .. Apostle Paul admitted being a poor speaker and displayed human characteristics, BUT what they taught and wrote down for the congregations was spot on. There is a difference between human & personal mistakes and actually teaching untruths and erroneous teachings.
So what about the flip flops in teaching, what about the dates that have come and gone . Done of that has anything to do with the imperfection of Russell, Rutherford, Knorr and the others. Are they directed by Holy Spirit or not?
The results ought to speak for themselves..

Ive heard that one too many times, they are imperfect! Ok, tell her yes, they are, but isnt the wts directed by jahs holy spirit? Did jah "put it in their hearts" to join the UN?
Did jah tell then no blood, and then whisper in their ear years later, After people died, to take fractions of blood?
Imperfect or not, false dates comes from false prophets.

WAC, would she read CoC ? When you understand that it's a bunch of men driving the Org and not God, you out.

Don't know if this is helpful, but may be worth a try...
I kept getting the example at Matthew 13:24-30. The weeds will be allowed to grow amongst the wheat for awhile, yes.
Yet if Jesus' Kingdom was established back in 1918, wouldn't he have tore out the wheat AT THAT TIME?
When he entered the temple (a foreshadowing) and saw the moneychangers, he dealt with them immediately, on the spot.
He did not sit around complacently almost a hundred years waiting for people to figure out they were getting ripped off.
Also, if his kingdom is to REPLACE Satan's wicked system, how come we are obviously still in Satan's system? This 1918 established Kingdom is less effective for 6 million JWs today, than for the handful of faithful Jewish worshippers at the temple 2,000 years ago.
For this and similar reasons, I rejected the 1918 approval. And the GB, too.

Perhaps you could go to HOWCULTSWORK.com, take notes on what a cult is, how they operate, etc.... Then, without naming any names, of course, ask your Mom if any of the techniques ring a bell with her.
She may even read it herself, because it is not critical of the WTS at all. They are not even mentioned.
If you haven't read Steven Hassan's books about breaking the bonds of mind control, itmight be a good idea. It can help you to help your loved ones get past the phobias, etc...
His book, Battling Cult Mind Control does not mention the WTS at all, so it might be something that you could have JW friends and family look over, without having the phobia kick in about reading "apostate" material.
