Does it get more cultish than this?
Satan's Plans, Does it Work?
"We can't keep them from forming an intimate relationship with Jehovah God.
"Once they gain that connection with Jehovah, our power over them is broken.
"So let them go to their Kingdom Halls; let them have their covered dish dinners but steal their time, so they don't have time to develop a relationship with Jehovah.
"This is what I want you to do", said the devil: "Distract them from gaining hold of their GOD and maintaining that vital connection throughout the day!"
"Keep them busy in the nonessentials of life and invent innumerable schemes to occupy their minds," he answered.
"Temp them to spend, spend, spend and borrow, borrow, borrow. Persuade them to work 6-7 days each week, 10-12 hours a day.
"Keep them from spending time with their children", "As their families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no escape from the pressures of work!"
"To keep the TV, VCR, CDS, and their PCs going constantly in their home and see to it that every store and restaurant in the world plays debasing music constantly."
"This will jam their minds and break that union with their God Jehovah."
"Pound their minds with the news 24 hours a day." "Invade their driving moments with billboards."
"Flood their mailboxes with junk mail, mail order Catalogs, sweepstakes, and every kind of newsletter and promotional offering free products, services and false hopes. "
"Keep the wives too tired to love their husbands at night. Give them headaches too!"
"If they don't give their husbands the love they need, they will begin to look elsewhere."
"That will fragment their families quickly!"
"Soon they will be all working in their own strength, sacrificing their health and family for the good of the cause."
It was quite a plan! The demons went eagerly to their assignments causing Christians everywhere to get more busy and more rushed, going here and there. Having little time for their God or their families. Having no time to tell others about the good news of the Kingdom. I guess the question is has the devil been successful at his scheme? You be the judge! What does "busy" mean:
U-nder
S-atan's
Y-oke?
Please pass this on, if you aren't too BUSY!

"Keep skinny, beautiful models on the magazines and TV so their husbands will believe that outward beauty is what's important, and they'll become dissatisfied with their wives."
"Keep the wives too tired to love their husbands at night. Give them headaches too!"
"If they don't give their husbands the love they need, they will begin to look elsewhere."
"That will fragment their families quickly!"Do you think a man wrote this???? Apparently he didn't think that women might become dissatisfied with husbands who had to be at meetings every night of the week instead of home in bed!!!

Anyone read "The Screwtape Letters" by C.S. Lewis?
Same concept. Over 60 years old.
And thought provoking as opposed to guilt inducing.

Anyone read "The Screwtape Letters" by C.S. Lewis?
Yup....haven't read it in years, but that little e-mail is almost exactly the same....

Wow! I got that e-mail too but not from a JW source and "Jehovah" was replaced with "Jesus" and " kh" was replaced with "church"........wonder what came first? the chicken or the egg?

"Keep them from spending time with their children", "As their families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no escape from the pressures of work!"
Hmm, isn't this what happens when elders are involved with CO meetings, circuit assembly meetings, district convention meetings, judicial committee meetings, elders meetings, quick-build meetings, quick-build projects, meeting part preparation, shepherding calls...not to mention the stuff that every JW is expected to do: field service preparation, personal study, meeting attendance, assembly attendance, field service, arrive early to meetings & stay late, etc. etc. etc. ad infinitum.
Seems to me that JWs would have a heck of a lot more time to "spend with their children" if they could get off the hamster wheel of "theocratic" busy work.
