Thanks for the warm welcome! Looking forward to my first Washafest!

It's a new adventure and we will be there for 10-13 years. We've been moving about every year since 2000 with my wife's company. She was actually in Belvue, WA about 3 years ago. I stayed and worked in Austin at the time. Her company flew us every month to see each other.

We now have a 21 month old boy

I had KFC in Pasco, once. It was good, but kind of greasy. Hope that helps.

As for Kingdom Halls, isn't Tri-City arena home to a series of district conventions every year?

good luck on your move. Are you still in Louisiana now? or are you currently living in Texas?

Welcome to Washington! I'm on the green & rainy side.

Me too. Richland is really hot in the summertime. That's the only time I've ever been there. I guess you are used to hot summers though.

Dave, we are in LA, still. And Mulan, yes the heat should be no problem. The winters may take a bit of getting used to.

My only regret is that I won't finish remodeling our house. I'm on a huge push now to finish the upstairs.

    Bryan,
I lived there for 23 years, both in Richland, West Richland, and Kennewick. The one thing that did bug me was the wind blowing the tumbleweeds and dirt around. You'll get that a lot in the spring especially. I grew up where it is green, mountainous, and mild in the summer, so when I moved over to the west side of the state and then on to Oregon I found I preferred it. Yes there are too many people on the west side, but I personally preferred it to the more conservative east side of the state.

I only went to the KH in Kennewick, though, so I don't have anything to tell you about KHs in Richland, I was trying to avoid them by that point.

Having said that, my best friend of about 40 years lives in Richland. If you guys decided to have an eastern WA get-together let me know, hell I might even drive over there for that.

I also live on the green and wet side of the state, but I lived in Pullman for about 12 years. I student taught in Richland in 1973. While I was there I saw a cartoon from the forties when they were building the bomb: father and son standing in front of one those gov't prefab houses watching the sun go down and son is saying "Dad how far are we from the United States?"

I don't know about kingdom halls, but there are district conventions held in Kennewick all summer long...

Congratulations on your move, dear friends! I agree it's the best decision, though sad for us -- we'll miss you!

    LOTS of hugs,

    Nina
