At least this has been made public. Plenty of eyebrows will go up to read that she was ousted after bringing hushed-up allegations to light.

Thanks for that update. And it sure is disappointing that they can get away with using their religion as a club

Made public with who, former Witnesses who look for this kind of stuff? Because I can pretty much guarantee that few people not looking for something negative on Witnesses know anything about it.

That's too bad...I thought they might have a chance. It is so hard to win a lawsuit against the WTS.

This may just relate to the interlocutory appeal which was pending before the appellate court. This does not necessarily mean that they lost in the lower court, just that they lost that portion that they were appealing. Before we say shucks, too bad, let's find out what the "loss" relates to. I am sure Ms. Anderson will fill us in, as she posts here from time to time.

Its funny that cover up of sexual abuse doesn't even make the state curious when allegation have come from someone inside the inner workings. If the allegations were true or not, is important in a decision for or against the Andersons. It would prove that they had grounds for saying what they did and that there removal was not only malicious but also a move to further silence and cover up scandal. It makes you wonder if the org. who is swimming in money, in there little lawyers club, didn't shoot a pile of cash in the direction of the judge. Who would ever know? They can always feed off that cash cow if it remains strong. They sure can't get as much cash off the Andersons . Never trust a lawyer or a judge. They probably all know each other too.

well that sucks.
here's the article (cuz it may be gone tommorow from the news station)
NASHVILLE, Tenn. An appeals court has dismissed the claims of a Middle Tennessee couple who accused the Jehovah's Witnesses of improperly ousting them from their congregation.
Barbara and Joseph Anderson of Tullahoma claimed they were removed after the wife told (N-B-C's) "Dateline" the denomination covers up child sexual abuse.
The Andersons sought 20 (M) million dollars, claiming defamation, fraud and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
The Tennessee Court of Appeals ruled today that their ouster involved internal church matters.
The case did not directly address the issue of sexual abuse within the Jehovah's Witnesses.
According to the suit, Barbara Anderson was working as a volunteer researcher at the international headquarters of the Jehovah's Witnesses in the early 1990s when a church official asked her to look into the handling of sexual abuse cases. She said she found hundreds of allegations that had been kept secret, and when she made those findings public, she was ousted from the church.

That really stinks.
I have spoke with Barbara on the phone and she seems like such an exceptional person.
Of course, now, the Watchtower will just say that shows that Jehovah is watching out for them but maybe it might get someone to look deeper into the allegations.
