    3. Alien The Empire Strikes Back (fave movie as a kid)

    4. Star Wars Alien (bcs Sigourney Weaver kicked arse - one of my first archetype role models)

    5. Contact Star Wars (because it was the first one on so many counts)

    Seems like a lot of SciFi movies that impressed me when I first saw them have not aged well and now seem hokey. The great fifties classics were thinly veiled allegorys of the red scare/nuclear threat that dominated the fears of most people. They have held up pretty well, the themes seem timeless.

    There have been some real corny ones, like Forbidden Planet (Robbie the Robot), Planet of the Apes, Soylent Green, Star Wars, and others that I seldom watch again.

    lol Gregor. Are you one of the ones who sits in the cinema during a James Bond movie saying "that is not physically possible, by the laws of ...". Surely you must have one favourite?

    The first star wars movie, Blade runner ,matrix ,terminator,planet of the apes. of course some could change over night but star wars seems always number one . Loved that blade runner movie tho.
