http://www.scifi.com/onair/scifipictures/riverworld/Story I would most like to see made into a sci-fi movie:
Riverworld, by Phillip Jose Farmer.
:What are your favorite top 5 science fiction movies of all time?
"Life Everlasting in Freedom of the Sons of God"
Produced in: 1966
Written by: Fred Franz
Directied by :Nathan Knorr
Produced by: The Watchtower Printing and Fantasy Corporation
Distributed by: Millions of Idiots
Now Playing at: Nah. It's been replaced by new lies and fantasies from the Producers.
The screenplay was submitted to MGM for a movie version, but all the MGM people threw up and had to be evacuated to a local care facility becuase they became dehydrated during their hurling.
So, it never became a movie. But it was a movie that played in the heads of millions of believers (including yours truly). If it ever became a movie, it could certainly never be worse than the book.
Farkel
I'll just have to say "D-All of the Above"
One novel I'd love to see done CORRECTLY into a movie or good Sci-Fi Channel mini series is "Battlefield Earth". That story just can't be whittled down to two or three hours and it needs a good budget. The current movie is horrendous and cheesy. Done right it would be fantastic.
Deepstar Six
The Thing
Predator
Pitch Black
Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan
I'd also like to mention a slow paced, subdued sci-fi flick called Primer. It was a very low budget/almost zilch special effects movie. So not a top pick of all time, but consider it if you ever get two use a rent one video get another free coupon. :)
Planet of the Apes (with Charleton Heston) was just plain fun.
