When I first got here JWD was a VERY different place. Most people were longtime internet DB anti Watchtower users. A lot of in fighting used to be here. A number of arrogant sounding posters frequented this place. Now, I see it as friendlier, kinder and more inclusive. What's YOUR opinion of JWD???

Yes, besides its whiteness, I would say I describe it as a place to come and vent/talk/listen with people who understand my circumstances because they have 1) been through similar/same things and/or 2) know intimately people who have.
I do feel like there is a lot of love here amongst us, and yes, occasionally there is a fight or three, but isn't that with any "normal" relationship anyway? It seems like we resolve them pretty well.
In the JW religion, not only will NOBODY acknowledge that the things you go through when disfellowshipped or reproved (just as one example of an injustice that many here have been through/are going through) is really hard, they actually blame YOU and say it's your fault you are going through it and that you have a weakness if you can't put up with it. The reality of it is that if any of my JW family members who have not been "disciplined" like my brother and I have had deal with the pain of being cut off from everything and everyone they know, they would stop being so self-righteous about it, and see and feel firsthand how childish, ridiculous and manipulative the whole thing is.
To come here and realize that there is a whole group of people just like me, who may have felt alone in their experiences just like me, is a very healing/powerful thing.

Greetings mm. I don't visit other ex-jw sites, no need to. JWD has changed and I'm glad, it's much more welcoming to come and share thoughts also vent out in a calm manner. Every once in awhile someone gets out of hand and what does he/she accomplish, very litte, 'if' any. I have more enjoyable and pleasurable things to do than argue. Have a happy!

I would describe JWD as an ecclectic mix of people from all religous spectrums and backgrounds. This mix is what gives JWD its richness and debth. And because of it, I enjoy being here. Lilly
