Definitely they are produced for both children and adults.

But I remember waaaaayyyyyyyy back when their were some episodes of old cartoons (that I have since watched again) that had the "subliminal" adult humor there.

Has anyone watched "Wonder Pets"?? I think it is one of the cutest for small children. Stresses teamwork. I would recommend it for it's message and cute animals and their voices.

Definitely agree that the adults are included in the target audience. There's a bit in Fairly Odd Parents where the Pixies were talking about themselves, how powerful they were. They sang, "We're Pixies! Strong, like Bill Bixby!"

NO WAY would a kid understand that obscure reference. Had to be there for the adults.

Cartoon Network has some great ones, too. My favorite is The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, but Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends is good too. Ed, Edd, and Eddie is pretty well done as well. Good stuff!

    Good topic!
